Highlights from 112 Years of ŠKODA Motorsports at Goodwood

› ŠKODA 1101 Sport, ŠKODA 130 RS and ŠKODA Fabia WRC at the starting line
› ŠKODA presents three legends from a 112-year history in motorsports
› New ŠKODA Octavia RS celebrates its world premiere at Goodwood
› 20th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Mladá Boleslav, 11 July 2013 – ŠKODA will be out in force at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 11th to 14th of July, 2013. Alongside the world premiere of the new ŠKODA Octavia RS, the Czech car maker will be presenting three fantastic highlights from the company’s 112-year history in motorsports at the racetrack – the ŠKODA 1101 Sport, the ŠKODA 130 RS and the ŠKODA Fabia WRC rally car.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will be taking place this year for the 20th time.  With around 150,000 visitors from all over the world, the event in Goodwood, southern England, is the world's largest historic motorsports event. Historic and current racing cars from all categories will be presented on the 1.7 km on-site mountain course as well as on a custom rally route.

“Since the company was first founded, motorsport has been a driving force for ŠKODA to excel both on the racing track and in technical development,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. He continues, “Our founding fathers were pioneers in mobility and, like many people, were captivated by speed. Since these beginnings, ŠKODA has celebrated many successes in motorsports, including our current victories in international rally sport. We are very proud of our successful motorsport tradition and will be displaying three outstanding representatives of this history at Goodwood.

The ŠKODA 1101 Sport was the first ŠKODA racing car after the Second World War, and was built in 1950 for the 24-hour race at Le Mans. The bodywork is made out of lightweight metal. To power the car, which weighs in at a mere 665 kg, is a four-cylinder, 1,498cc, 142 hp engine with a top speed of 215 km/h.

The ŠKODA 130 RS was one of the most successful racing cars of its time. Since its launch in 1975, the vehicle was a favourite at rallies and circuit racing until the early 1980s. As it was known at the time, the “Porsche of the East” has a number of victories under its belt, including victories at the Touring Car European Championships of 1981 and the double victory at the Monte-Carlo rally in 1977 in the up to 1,300cc category. The Czechs will be presenting a car from 1977 at Goodwood. The four-cylinder engine with 1,289cc capacity provides 139 hp. The top speed of this 130 RS is 200 km/h.

The final member of this historical racing car trio from Mladá Boleslav is the “Youngster” – the 2003 rally car ŠKODA Fabia WRC. Under the bonnet of the Fabia WRC is a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 1,999cc displacement and 300 hp. The all-wheel drive Fabia WRC was initially developed under the World Rally Car Regulations for the FIA and did very well in the World Rally Championships and national rally competitions until 2007. At Goodwood, the Fabia WRC will be racing on a special circuit where a separate competition for rally cars will be taking place. The 'Forest Rally Stage' is a 2.5km drive over a U-shaped gravel road through the forest.

In addition to participating with the three historic racing cars, ŠKODA will be celebrating the world premiere of the new ŠKODA Octavia RS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The fastest Octavia ever – as a saloon and combi – offers powerful yet economical engines, sporty design and innovative technology. The latest ŠKODA Octavia RS accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 248 km/h – in a manual saloon. Two new engines are now available in the new ŠKODA Octavia RS – either a two-litre petrol engine with 162 kW (220hp), or a two-litre diesel engine with 135kW (184hp).

ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback – ŠKODA’s young compact car

› ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback: First ŠKODA hatchback in the high-volume compact segment
› Design: Dynamic and fresh for young customer groups
› Typically ŠKODA: Lots of space, functionality and ‘Simply Clever’ ideas
› Individual: Panoramic glass roof and prolonged rear window
› Environment: Fuel-efficient gas and diesel engines with an optimum CO2 value of 99 g/km
› Start: World premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013

Mladá Boleslav, 15 July 2013 –ŠKODA introduces the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback, expanding its model range in the high-volume compact segment between the ŠKODA Fabia and the ŠKODA Octavia. For the first time ever, ŠKODA offers a compact car which combines ŠKODA’s good practical qualities with the hatchback shape. With its dynamically fresh design, the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback is set to address younger customer segments. As is typical of ŠKODA, the Rapid Spaceback offers a lot of space, numerous ‘Simply Clever’ ideas, top safety, interesting opportunities for individualization, low fuel consumption and an excellent price/value ratio, meaning the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback sets new standards in Europe’s strongest vehicle segment. The Rapid Spaceback will celebrate its premiere at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, while its launch in the European markets is scheduled for October 2013.
“The new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback is a milestone for ŠKODA: it means that we are entering the strategically important segment of compact hatchback models,” says ŠKODA’s CEO Winfried Vahland. “The Rapid Spaceback is a great addition to this class in that it combines ŠKODA’s good practical characteristics with the popular hatchback shape. Sporting the new ŠKODA design, the Rapid Spaceback has a fresh, dynamic and individual appearance. It is a compact car with a sporty chic, spacious and practical, ideal for young people and families,” says Vahland.

A sporty-fresh compact car

The new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback has a clear, independent appearance with a special chic. It is a car which exudes sporty freshness and dynamic elegance, making it attractive and appealing at first sight. The side view offers special accents. Compared with conventional hatchback models, it looks sportier and stretched, almost like a coupe, letting it stand out visually from the competition.

The ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback’s dynamic silhouette is marked by clear lines, a long wheelbase (2,602 millimeters) and the sharp, high tornado line. The Rapid Spaceback has a ‘C’ and a ‘D’ column with a third side window.

Individualization is a focus area in this car, one of the highlights of the new Rapid Spaceback being the huge panoramic glass roof available as an option. This tinted glass roof reaches all the way from the windscreen to the rear window, offering passengers an unobstructed view of the sky. Combined with the panoramic glass roof, the optional prolong rear window constitutes an additional design accent. In this solution, the tinted glass of the rear window reaches about ten centimetres further down the rear door than in the normal rear window. In connection with the panoramic glass roof, the dark tint of the glass surface reaches from the windscreen all across the roof and deep into the rear door. A black spoiler at the upper end of the rear window emphasizes the dynamic impression.

The tail end of the car emphasizes the sporty character of the ŠKODA Spaceback. It features clear lines and creates a balanced and uncluttered impression. A black diffuser element equally underlines the horizontal orientation as well as the broad tail lights in brand-typical ‘C’ design.

Up to the B-pillar, the design of the front of the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback is based on the Rapid sedan. The core elements are: a prominent grille with 19 vertical ribs and a chrome frame, the new logo on the rounded front end of the hood, the cloverleaf arrangement of the headlights and fog lights.

A spacious, attractive interior

The interior of the new Rapid Spaceback impresses with sporty three-spoke steering wheels, stylish trim lines and fresh designs for the seat covers. As is typical of ŠKODA, the interior of the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback offers a lot of space: though the exterior of the new model measures 18 centimeters less than the Rapid saloon, passenger space is just as generous as in the car’s ‘big brother’. The rear of the Rapid Spaceback offers the largest legroom (64 millimeters) and the largest headroom (980 millimeters) in its segment. Likewise, the trunk volumes are among the best figures in the segment, measuring 415 liters or 1,380 liters when the rear bench is folded down.

This generous space is complemented by numerous ‘Simply Clever’ solutions. For example, the new Rapid Spaceback has an optional double cargo floor in the trunk, permitting the trunk to be divided into two horizontal levels providing double utility. And there is no need to leave the double floor behind when using maximum trunk space as it can simply be moved into the lower position. Furthermore, the Rapid Spaceback offers all the practical features familiar with from the Rapid including the ice scraper in the fuel filler flap and the holder for the safety vest under the driver seat, the double-sided floor cover in the trunk or the waste bin in the side door. Other examples include the parking ticket holder, the multimedia holder, the cup holders in the front and rear or the parcel shelf that can be stowed behind the rear seats.

Safety without compromises

The new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback offers the high safety that has come to be expected of ŠKODA. An extensive safety package protects passengers in case of an accident. In particular, it includes front, side and head airbags, height-adjustable three-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and height-adjustable head restraints. In EU countries, the ABS and ESC systems are standard. Other active safety features are optional xenon headlights, tire pressure control, fog-lights with corner function or the ‘hill-hold control’ assistant.

Four petrol and two diesel engines

In Europe, the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback is available with four petrol and two diesel engines. These advanced power plants put out between 55 and 90 kW, the 1.6 TDI/66 kW celebrating its premiere in the Rapid model series. In the GreenLine version with this engine, the Rapid Spaceback consumes a mere 3.8 l per 100 km, CO2 emissions amounting to 99 g/km.

The largest model offensive in company history

The ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback is the latest innovation as part of the largest model offensive in ŠKODA’s 118-year history as a company. Over the coming years, the brand is set to overhaul its entire model range and expand it into additional segments. On average, one new or re-engineered ŠKODA model will be introduced onto the market every six months. This model offensive is the core of the ŠKODA Growth Strategy 2018, by which time ŠKODA sales are to rise to at least 1.5 million per year.

ŠKODA extends model offensive to bicycle programme, presents brand’s first electric cycle

7/16/2013

New ŠKODA Green E Line e-bike expands existing ŠKODA bicycle collection. “Pedelec” combines muscle and engine power, up to 105 km range. Wide choice of ŠKODA cycles for any age and any purpose.
ŠKODA AUTO presents its first electric cycle. The new ŠKODA Green E Line has an electric range of up to 105 km. It is available effective immediately from ŠKODA dealers for a price of 65,990 CZK.

The new ŠKODA Green E Line is an attractive addition to ŠKODA’s 2013 bicycle collection. Besides the e-bike, the current offering includes ten other bicycles – children’s and youth bikes as well as racers and trekking and mountain bikes. Available for the first time are currently popular 29-inch mountain bikes.

“Electric power is playing a growing role especially in bicycles,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA board member for sales and marketing. “The new ŠKODA Green E Line offers cutting-edge technology and guarantees sporty mobility. It is the perfect complement to the broadest bicycle collection that has ever been available from ŠKODA,” says Werner Eichhorn. ŠKODA created its first e-bike in cooperation with KTM company.

The new ŠKODA Green E Line was designed as a so-called “pedelec” (short for pedal electric cycle). In this sort of electric cycle, the motor will only switch on if the rider turns the pedals (limited pedalling support). Motor support is limited to speeds below 25 km/h for regulatory and insurance reasons.

The motor’s range is up to 105 km. Once the lithium-ion battery’s capacity has been fully used, it can be recharged in a maximum of four hours. The motor from BionX brand is integrated into the rear axle and puts out 250 watt. It is powered by a battery attached to the frame with a capacity of 423 watt-hours and a weight of just 2.6 kg. The entire bike weighs a mere 21.7 kg.

To ensure the motor can support a rider’s effort in the best possible way, sensors continuously monitor parameters such as speed, cadence and torque. Depending on settings, the motor will provide support of 35, 75, 150 or 300 per cent of a rider’s own effort. The motor also features a recuperation function which feeds back power generated when braking or running downhill. In addition, the ŠKODA Green E Line can easily be turned into a standard trekking bike simply by replacing the rear wheel. The battery can be easily removed to this end.

The new ŠKODA E-Bike is the most recent innovation in the brand’s wide bicycle offering. In addition, ŠKODA Original Accessories offers a total of ten models for a variety of purposes and age groups. Street racers can chose from two, while mountain bikers can look forward to all of four new ŠKODA models, no less than three of them in the popular 29-inch category. The “ŠKODA Cross” trekking bike features new equipment, and there is also an offering specially aimed at children, namely the new 20-inch “ŠKODA Junior” bike, and the “ŠKODA Kid” designed for smaller children, all of them made in cooperation with renowned manufacturer Superior. The “ŠKODA Mini” training bike, aimed at the youngest ones, is made by Olpran.

ŠKODA’s current bicycle collection is another testament to the brand’s special relationship with cycles. It was bicycle-making at the company’s home location in Mladá Boleslav which started its success story. As early as the late 19th century, in 1895, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement founded a company called Laurin & Klement (L&K) and began making bicycles. The first years saw these two enthusiastic pioneers of mobility building cycles under the “Slavia” brand name, followed by motorcycles from 1899 and finally, from 1905, the “Voiturette A,” the company’s first car. In 1925, L&K merged with ŠKODA.

Today, ŠKODA’s close commitment to cycling is evident in its comprehensive sponsoring activities, involving international contests such as the “Tour de France” and the “Giro d’Italia,” but which have also long included ŠKODA supporting cycling events in the Czech Republic. Among them is the popular “Kolo pro život” series (“Cycle for life”), the world’s largest racing series for mountain bikes. In the past thirteen years, a total of about 160,000 professional and amateur cyclists took part in the race, 20,000 of them in 2012 alone. In addition, ŠKODA has been hosting the popular “Virtual Cup” contest in the Czech Republic, which has cyclists competing on one of 16 racecourses.

Alongside hockey and ŠKODA Motorsport, cycling is one of the most important cornerstones of the ŠKODA sponsorship strategy.

Alongside the most extensive model campaign in the company’s history, the Czech car manufacturer is also refreshing their current model range. The popular compact car, the ŠKODA Fabia, will be available at dealers in two new special editions. “Our model portfolio is to become even more attractive,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing. He continues, “We plan to further expand our good position in the markets with our new models.”

The Fabia Reaction is based on the ‘Active’ equipment set up and boasts a distinctive design and effective contrast against the black design elements, such as the roof, spoiler, grille and exterior mirrors. The main headlights and the fog lights with integrated daylight running lights are also highlighted in black. The B-columns are covered with an adhesive decorative shiny black film. Black, 16-inch alloy, ‘Comet’ design wheels are available as optional extras. Just as the Fabia Monte Carlo, the ŠKODA Fabia Combi Monte Carlo pays tribute to the 112-year successful motorsport tradition of the brand. The special edition is based on the ‘Ambition’ equipment set up. Its special dynamic is not only characterized by the standard sport suspension but also through the vehicle’s striking appearance. It includes black plastic panelling in the lower part of the chassis, black shiny B-columns and black, ‘Comet’-design, 16-inch alloy wheels. The main headlights are highlighted in black, plus the grille and the side mirrors are painted black, as is the roof railing. The windows are tinted (‘SunSet’ package).

The Fabia Combi Monte Carlo is available in eight different colours: corrida-red, brilliant-silver, candy-white, magic-black, cappuccino-beige, sprint-yellow, steel-grey and race-blue. All engines currently offered for the Fabia are available for the special edition.

The interior of the Fabia Combi Monte Carlo also features a sporty design. The motto here is “black is beautiful”. The roof liner, dashboard, carpet und door covers are all in black. Sport seats in black-red or black-grey design are fitted as standard. They are complemented by a small leather package: the 3-spoke steering wheel, hand brake grip and gear stick are finished in leather sewn in red thread. ‘Birth Certificates’ for ŠKODA Classics

› Certificate with information on the history of the vehicle available for owners
› Service from the ŠKODA company archives in Mladá Boleslav

Mladá Boleslav, 24 July 2013 – ŠKODA offers a fantastic service for owners of historic ŠKODA vehicles. Proud owners of ŠKODA classics are able to obtain the certificate for their vehicle from the ŠKODA company archives in Mladá Boleslav. Included in the ‘automotive birth certificate’, there is information on both the history and all archived data of the specific vehicle.
Owners of classic cars have a very special relationship with their showpiece. And they are particularly interested in the history of their model. What equipment did the vehicle have upon delivery? What colour? In which factory was it built? Answers to these and other questions can be found in certificates from the manufacturer.

Those interested can contact the company ŠKODA archive in Mladá Boleslav directly. The archive draws on the vast inventory of historic carriages and motor books for research. For example, chassis numbers and engine markings can be identified, and often also the original colour of the vehicle upon delivery and even the name of the first owner.

Each certificate receives a serial number, is signed by the head archivist and is issued in the name of the applicant. Issuing a complete certificate costs 1,210 CZK (approx. 47 EUR/40 GBP). Should any details be missing, there is a reduced price of 968 CZK (37 EUR/32 GBP). For selected vehicles such as exhibits, there is the possibility of obtaining copies of available archive documents as required. The price is then 2,420 CZK (93 EUR/80 GBP). Further information is available at ŠKODA Archive, contact: +420 326 8 31133, email archiv@skoda-auto.cz

The ŠKODA company archives have documented the history of the Czech manufacturer since 1895. In addition to brochures, price lists, photographs, manuals, literature and technical documents, there are also original car books in the holdings of the collection. These books contain valuable information on the vehicles constructed by the brand. The ŠKODA company archive is one of the most comprehensive archives of its kind. As a part of the ŠKODA museum, the archive is set in the 100 year-old, former SKODA production facilities in Mladá Boleslav. In addition to the brochures, photographs, and vehicle and engine books, there are also many more materials to be found in the ŠKODA company archives, such as catalogues, press releases, contracts, for example, between Laurin and Klement, the founding fathers of the automobile manufacturer, as well as important correspondence and personal documents from significant, senior employees.

By the end of 2012, the ŠKODA museum had been extensively modernized and completely redesigned as a multimedia showcase for the brand. The experience along the path of Václav Klement takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the history of the company: a diverse, interactive and multimedia adventure. Three areas with 46 historic vehicles, several hundred individual exhibits, as well as contemporary historical films, photos and documents are there for all to see. The whirlwind tour of time, spanning almost 118 years, is represented by cars, films, documents and witnesses. The modern exhibition area is set out over 1,800 m2 in the historic manufacturing halls.

ŠKODA Citigo CNG on record journey across Europe

› More than 2700 km from Vicenza, Italy to Stockholm, Sweden
› Fuel-saving world champion Gerhard Plattner drives the popular CITIGO CNG
› Nine countries in one week with only 100 euros cash for natural gas
› ŠKODA shows true colours in fuel efficiency with record-breaking journey
› ŠKODA Citigo demonstrates capability as long-distance car

Mladá Boleslav, 29 July 2013 – More than 2700 kilometres across Europe – the economical ŠKODA Citigo CNG makes a confident record attempt. Today in Vicenza, Italy, fuel-saving world champion Gerhard Plattner began his one-week tour with the popular ŠKODA model from northern Italy to Scandinavia. His goal: to reach the Swedish capital Stockholm with the natural gas-powered Citigo on a budget of less than 100EUR. So Plattner has to try to drive the efficient ŠKODA Citigo CNG as environmentally consciously and economically as possible.

There have already been so many record drives. From Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and 13 Alpine laps in 24 hours – Gerhard Plattner has already done almost everything that a driver could possibly imagine. Now he is looking for another challenge: he is to come up against nine European countries (more than 2700 km) in one week – with no more than 100 EUR in fuel for the natural gas ŠKODA. “The special attraction for me primarily lies in the seemingly impossible feat of such economical travel – and, of course, also in the route. I am well prepared for all possible eventualities” says Plattner in light of the road ahead.

On his way from Italy to Scandinavia, the record-breaking driver will be making stops at stations in Austria, Hungary amongst others in his ŠKODA Citigo CNG. In Bratislava, Slovakia, ŠKODA’s successful small car has been on sale since 2011, where so far 55,400 ŠKODA Citigos have been delivered to customers. Next, the purely gas-driven car will pass through the Czech capital, Prague, to the ŠKODA headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, and from there he will continue onto Poland through Berlin. “The arrival at the Sony Center will be one of the highlights of the week-long trip,” says Plattner.
This Friday, 2nd August, he wishes to then finish the record run through Denmark into the Swedish capital of Stockholm and he will have proved that the natural gas technology in the ŠKODA Citigo is not only efficient but also cost effective. Tomorrow, Tuesday, Plattner starts the stage from Vienna, Austria, through Hungary and Slovakia to the Czech ŠKODA headquarters in Mladá Boleslav.

Plattner has travelled literally thousands of miles on his unusual fuel-saving trips and fuel efficiency records in many parts of the world. In the Guinness Book of World Records, Plattner is dubbed as "the most versatile driver in the world". This is not the first time that Plattner has driven for SKODA, and he has been presented with several efficiency records with products from the successful Czech brand. Low fuel consumption and lowemissions characterize the entire ŠKODA model range. Back in 2005 he travelled 18,000 kilometres across Europe in a ŠKODA Fabia, crossing 31 countries. At that time he only had 1,000 euros fuel for the whole trip. In May, 2011, Plattner managed to get from Austria to Denmark - and back again on a single tank in his ŠKODA Fabia GreenLine - 2006 kilometres on a full tank corresponding to an average consumption of 2.21 litres per 100 kilometres.

Now the Austrian wishes to set a new efficiency record with the ŠKODA Citigo CNG, whereby he will travel as economically as possible using natural gas from Vicenza to Stockholm. What motivates someone to take on such an extraordinary experiment? “I want to prove that it is possible to drive ecumenically not only under ideal conditions on an enclosed test circuit. Under certain conditions and even on winter roads, a ŠKODA can be driven with less than standard fuel consumption,” says Plattner.

ŠKODA Citigo CNG chasing records

› ŠKODA small car’s consumption lower than factory specs
› Gerhard Plattner on the road to success in his record attempt
› Berlin welcomes ŠKODA Citigo CNG at the Sony Center
› Efficient CNG technology can also use biomethane

Mladá Boleslav/Rostock, 1 August 2013 – This Wednesday after 605km, the record driver Gerhard Plattner reached the third of five milestones in his ŠKODA Citigo CNG. In his record attempt, he plans to cross nine European countries in just one week from Vicenza, Italy to the Swedish capital, Stockholm in the natural gas powered Citigo on a budget of less than 100 euros.

The Czech car manufacturer is making a bold statement in front of the Sony Center in Berlin, whereby fuel-saving world champion Gerhard Plattner pays a visit to the German capital during his record attempt. The Austrian makes a positive assessment of the 1,863 kilometres he has travelled so far: “Everything is going according to plan. The ŠKODA Citigo CNG is proving to be an efficient and robust vehicle, running under the specified average fuel consumption.”

The ŠKODA Citigo CNG represents exceptional environmentally-friendly mobility; this is particularly true in urban metropolitan areas with the reduction of fine particle pollution. With their efficient natural gas concept, ŠKODA is setting new standards in the town car Citigo. The runabout is listed with emissions of 79g CO2 per kilometre. This low value is possible thanks to using natural gas as fuel and the ŠKODA Green tec technology with elements such as a Start-Stop system, recuperation through brake energy regeneration and low rolling-resistance tyres. The 50 kW (68 hp) town car consumes only 2.9 kg or 4.4 m3 natural gas per 100 km. But Plattner wants to do better than this– and on his 2,700km journey from Vicenza, Italy to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, he is already running at less than the standard consumption of the ŠKODA Citigo CNG.

During his brief stopover in Berlin, Plattner eagerly answered the questions of many passersby and emphasized particularly the benefits of CNG technology for the environment. “Natural gas has long since been on the automotive scene. Thanks to modern technology, CNG-fuelled cars today are just as lively and torquey as their counterparts with diesel or gasoline engines,” Plattner said before he sat back down behind the wheel to reach next destination in Rostock.

ŠKODA focuses on environmentally friendly cars. The Czechs aim to further reduce the average CO2 emissions of all vehicles. Currently there are 81 ŠKODA models with emissions of less than 120 g CO2/km on offer, including eleven with values of less than 100 g CO2/km. The natural gas engine in the ŠKODA Citigo CNG is one part of this strategy. The advantage of natural gas vehicles over conventional diesel or petrol engines is primarily a cleaner combustion. Emissions of carbon dioxide are much as 25% lower than for other fossil fuels.

ŠKODA focuses their natural gas program on ‘CNG’ – compressed natural gas. In contrast to liquid natural gas (LNG), CNG has a higher energy content. CNG vehicles have the additional advantage of being able to use biomethane. This flexibility is a major advantage for the customer in an ever growing fuelling station network for natural gas-powered vehicles. Customers also benefit economically from owning a natural gas vehicle – due to its environmental advantages over other fossil fuels, natural gas has received a tax cut in Germany until the end of 2018.

First half of 2013 dedicated to the ŠKODA model offensive

› ŠKODA sells 464,600 cars
› Sales revenue in the first half of 2013 of around five billion Euros
› Operating profit reaches 243 million Euros
› Investments increase by 22.1% to 265 million Euros
› The biggest model offensive in ŠKODA’s corporate history: 2013 - a total of eight new or revised models

Mladá Boleslav, 1 August 2013 – ŠKODA dedicated the first half of the year to the model offensive; including bringing out the new ŠKODA Octavia and ŠKODA Superb facelift. Despite the new start of production and correspondingly low production volumes, ŠKODA achieved a sales revenue of almost five billion Euros in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Operating profit stood at 243 million Euros as of 30th June. 464,600 vehicles were sold; 5.8% down on the first half of 2012. Additionally, the weak developments on some European automotive markets hit the company’s sales and financial figures.

“The ŠKODA growth offensive moves into the next stage with the new ŠKODA Octavia and the completely revised Superb,” explains ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. He continues, “With a total of eight new or revised models this year, we are on the right track. On the year as a whole, we are expecting once again to surpass the previous year’s sales figures.” The sales figures in June were slightly higher than in the same month in 2012, making June 2013 the best sales June in the company’s history. “We do however still expect some further market uncertainty,” says Vahland.

The Czech car manufacturer’s sales revenue in the first half of 2013 stood at 4.97 billion Euros; 13.1% down on the same six months of 2012 (5.72 billion Euros). The operating profit reached 243 million Euros in the same period; 45.9% down compared to Jan-June of last year (449 million Euros). As a part of the current ŠKODA model offensive, investments rose by 22.1% on the same period last year to 265 million Euros (first half of 2012: 217 million Euros).

“ŠKODA has achieved solid results in the first half of 2013, especially in the challenging European environment,” says ŠKODA CFO Winfried Krause. He continues, “In the second half of the year, we plan to expand through the new models. We have also initiated stringent austerity measures in all areas.”

ŠKODA Citigo CNG with efficiency record

› ŠKODA‘s small car proves to be an efficient little saver: In five days from Italy to Sweden with less than 100 euros for natural gas
› Czech car maker sets standards for environmental awareness
› An average consumption of 2,39 kg of natural gas per 100 km
› On the 2,619 km route, the Citigo CNG’s CO2 emissions of 65 g/km remained well below the norm values

Mladá Boleslav/Stockholm, 2 August 2013 – Record for ŠKODA: Fuel-saving champion Gerhard Plattner has defined a new standard – this time with a ŠKODA Citigo CNG. After five days and 2,619 kilometres, Plattner achieved the goal of his record-breaking trip in Stockholm today with an average consumption of 2,39 kg of natural gas per 100 km, thereby undercutting the already impressive norm-consumption values of the ŠKODA Citigo CNG and managing the whole trip on less than 100 euros fuel expenses.

The ŠKODA Citigo CNG represents exceptional environmentally-friendly mobility. With their efficient natural gas concept, ŠKODA is setting new standards in the town car Citigo. The runabout is listed with emissions of 79g CO2 per kilometre. This low value is possible thanks to using gas as fuel and the ŠKODA Green tec technology with elements such as a Start-Stop system, recuperation through brake energy regeneration and low rolling-resistance tyres. The 50 kW (68 hp) town car consumes only 2.9 kg or 4.4 m3 natural gas per 100 km.
But the fuel-saving specialist Plattner undercut these already very efficient values on his 2,619 km record-breaking journey from Vicenza, Italy to the Swedish Capital, Stockholm: It took him an average of only 2,39 kg of natural gas per 100 km, representing only 65 g CO2 emissions per kilometre. “It was tight over the last two days, but I never doubted our success. The Citigo is a real long-distance all-rounder,” says a happy Plattner after his arrival in Stockholm.

After 515 km last Thursday, there are another 336 km on the program today. Here the manoeuvrability of the small ŠKODA proved to be a great asset when driving into Stockholm city centre. “We were able to squeeze through the narrow streets quickly and easily through heavy traffic and we even managed to save fuel,” Plattner explains his impressions in Stockholm.

“I am very excited about this record; it's a testament to the efficiency of the CNG engine in the ŠKODA Citigo. Despite the unexpected price increases for natural gas in Italy and Sweden, I managed it on this small budget and even have 18,76 euros left,” says Plattner happily. “Nine countries, over 2,619 km in five days - I felt great in this small city car even on such a long journey. And once when one natural gas filling station wasunexpectedly closed, there was a fallback option,” says Plattner in summary of his record run.
Small, efficient and “Simply Clever” – that’s the ŠKODA Citigo. Since the end of 2011, the small car has been built in Bratislava, Slovakia, and has attracted a number of enthusiastic customers. The CNG version of the ŠKODA Citigo is characterized by particularly high efficiency. Top speeds of 164 km/h (100 mph) are easily possible with this every day ŠKODA. Its 1-litre engine with 3 cylinders provides a high-torque 68hp. With only 2.9 kilograms of natural gas per 100 kilometres, the Citigo is one of the most economical and cost-effective vehicles in the world.

Alongside the Citigo’s drag coefficient of 0.33, the low weight of the vehicle also plays an important role for Gerhard Plattner. The Citigo weighs in at a mere 1,031 kilograms, ensuring a particularly enjoyable and economical driving experience. This makes the ŠKODA Citigo CNG a fantastic car for economical use in every walk of life.

ŠKODA Citigo CNG World Record

› Less than 82 EUR 2,619 km across nine European countries on
› ŠKODA Citigo CNG uses an average of 2.39 kg natural gas per 100 km, emits 65 g CO2 per km
› Stayed more than 0.5 kg under the norm consumption of 2.9 kg/100 km
› Undercut the norm consumption by almost 18%
› Plattner: “ŠKODA Citigo CNG is the first two-litre car”
› Record car Citigo CNG at the IAA in Frankfurt

Mladá Boleslav, 6 August 2013 – The ŠKODA Citigo CNG proves its class with a record result: fuel-saving champion Gerhard Plattner drove 2,619 km across Europe in the environmentally friendly natural gas ŠKODA. On the route from Vicenza, Italy to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, the average consumption of the ŠKODA Citigo CNG was 2.39 kg natural gas per 100 km – equating to more than 0.5 kg under the manufacturer’s specification of 2.9 kg/100 km in the NEDC mix.

“With this result, we have shown what can be achieved with good concepts, intensive development and ongoing technical optimization. Together with attractive design of the ŠKODA Citigo, its light weight and low ground air resistance. Thus, the ŠKODA Citigo CNG better record,” says Dr. Frank Welsch, Board Member for Development at ŠKODA AUTO.

The ever-reliable ŠKODA Citigo CNG’s all-time best results were recorded in the penultimate stage of the five-day tour across nine European countries: Plattner squeezed an amazing average consumption of 2.04 kg per 100km (96 MPG) on this 515 km stretch. The Austrian praised his economical companion, “as a real all-rounder for the long-haul who’s never let me down, and an incredibly comfortable ride.” Plattner is convinced, “the Citigo can even cover long distances well. The four-door was a lot of fun.”
Plattner concludes: “Even though I knew the Citigo CNG was extremely economical, I hadn’t expected such a result. I undercut the norm consumption by almost 18%. Three-litre cars may emit a maximum of 90 g of CO2 per kilometre. Then I come along in my Citigo with an average of 65 g of CO2 – that’s 28 % less. As such, the ŠKODA Citigo CNG is the first two-litre car,” he added with a smile.
Plattner has been pleased with the ever-growing network of natural gas fuelling stations since the time he was preparing for this record journey. “I was able to cut around 100km of refuelling detours off the planned 2,714 km, and on my budget of 100 EUR I could have travelled a few hundred kilometres further,” Plattner comments of the availability of fuel. There are an increasing number of CNG fuelling stations across Europe, and refuelling is no longer an issue.

For five days, extreme driver Plattner was on the road from Vicenza to Stockholm –
through a total of nine countries, from Italy over Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary,
Slovakia, Poland, Germany and Denmark on to Sweden. It was a tour of superlatives in
which he had sweltering heat in Italy, storms in Austria and by no means only the
motorway. The ŠKODA Citigo CNG pulled off the feat perfectly. At the end of his
European tour, Plattner still had 18.76 EUR left out of a 100 EUR fuel budget. Thus, the
Czech brand underlines their claim of producing especially efficient models, perfect for
everyday life.

The ŠKODA Citigo CNG, the car that made this record journey a resounding success, can
be seen this September on the Natural Gas Stand at the IAA in Frankfurt.

“King of Hockenheim” in a Czech SUV

› Racing legend Hans-Joachim “Strietzel” Stuck now a Yeti owner
› ŠKODA Yeti earns praise from both experts and general public
› Stuck, a Volkswagen Motorsport ambassador, also assisted in setup of Fabia Super 2000 race car

Mladá Boleslav, 9 August 2013 – Hans-Joachim “Strietzel” Stuck, a legend of European race tracks, has chosen a ŠKODA Yeti as his personal car, opting for a 2.0 TDI/140hp diesel engine and all wheel drive. Stuck, who earned a list of nicknames during his long career, including “King of Hockenheim”, has a close connection to ŠKODA brand not only based on personal sympathies, but also professionally: for example, he assisted in the setup of the Fabia Super 2000 race car.

“I am a great ŠKODA fan,” says Hans-Joachim Stuck. “I like the way this brand combines advanced technologies and lots of space at a reasonable price.” These were the factors which convinced this almost two-metre tall native from Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria to go for the Czech SUV: "The Yeti has enough space not just for me with my height, but also for my dog. And on top of that, I love the way Yeti handles both on the pavement and off the road - which is a great asset in the Austrian Alps, where I live.”

Stuck’s ŠKODA Yeti features a 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 140 horsepower (103 kW), connected to the six-speed manual gearbox and intelligent all-wheel drive with Haldex clutch. The car is pastel white with a black roof. Beyond the Elegance trim level, it is fitted with only a few options, one of them the Light Assistant (automatic headlights), which will come handy in Alpine tunnels.

But Hans-Joachim Stuck is not the only one who took a fancy to ŠKODA’s SUV. Since its launch in 2009, more than 265,000 drivers all over the world have chosen the Yeti. In 2012 alone, ŠKODA sold 87,400 Yeti, a year-on-year plus of 24.3 per cent, and 41,800 Yeti have been sold worldwide so far in the first half of 2013. In Europe, the Yeti’s market share is about five per cent, making it one of the Top 10 bestselling A-segment SUVs. In its home market, the Czech Republic, it is the undisputed number one in this segment.  And on top of that, it has received many awards, both from experts and the general public. One example is the Auto Express readers’ poll. In this customer satisfaction survey, around 46,000 readers from Great Britain voted the Yeti number one.

Hans-Joachim Stuck is a legend of European motor racing. While his father, "King of the Hills" Hans Stuck, was a hillclimbing icon, his son, known as "Strietzel," excelled in circuit racing, winning his first 24-hour race at just 19 years at Nürburgring. During his long career, he succeeded not just in touring car championships, but also in Formula 1 and 2 races, crowning his career with two wins at Le Mans and the sports car world championship. Although he earned many a nickname such as "The King of Hockenheim" („König von Hockenheim“) or „The Rain Master“ („Regenmeister“), "Strietzel” (“Rascal") stuck with him ever since he was born in 1951.

When “Strietzel” Stuck retired from active racing in 2011, he had already been Volkswagen motorsport ambassador for three years, developing close ties with ŠKODA brand and especially with Michal Hrabánek, the head of ŠKODA Motorsport. “In 2008, I helped with the setup of the Fabia Super 2000 cars, and since then, I have been following their successes in IRC and later also in ERC,” explains Stuck. In May 2013, Stuck had a chance to drive the third generation of the Octavia Combi 4x4 at its international press launch in Kitzbühel, Austria. He later summed up his impressions in just two words: "Simply brilliant!"

ŠKODA starts production of the new Octavia in India

› The Octavia is back: First generation impressed the Indians, now production starts on the next generation in the subcontinent
› The new ŠKODA Octavia is in a class of its own; launch on the Indian market in autumn
› Production at the Aurangabad plant

Mladá Boleslav, 9. August 2013 – Today sees the first of the latest generation of the ŠKODA bestseller roll of the production lines at the Indian plant in Aurangabad. The new ŠKODA Octavia boasts lots of room, high functionality, incorporating the latest technology and is also fantastic value for money.
“The new ŠKODA Octavia is now being produced at purpose-built facilities in one of the international growth markets. By far our most important model in the Indian market is also an engine of growth for ŠKODA,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland.

The third generation is the largest, most practical, safest, most comfortable and environmentally friendly Octavia ever. The Octavia boasts unrivalled space, a timeless and elegant design, high functionality, innovative safety and comfort systems, economical consumption, many Simply Clever ideas and typical ŠKODA value for money. The car is in a class of its own and offers mid-class qualities for the price of a compact car. “The new Octavia is a great car with a timeless and elegant design with the more space than the competition, high functionality, paired with better quality and excellent value for money that meets the needs of Indian customers perfectly: lots of space, modern design, excellent quality and advanced technology at an affordable price,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing.

With the launch of the new Octavia, the Czech car maker in India follows on from the success of the first-generation Octavia: Between November 2001 and October 2010, the Octavia inspired Indian customers and 44,900 Octavias were bought during this period alone. “At its premier in 2001, the first Octavia redefined its segment in India,” says Vahland. To date the car has enjoyed cult status in India. It owes this to its perfect engineering, commitment to quality and style as well as the combination of functionality and technology. This has ensured that ŠKODA has become a multi award-winning top brand in India.

The new ŠKODA Octavia is being produced at the Indian ŠKODA factory in Aurangabad, where the Superb, Yeti and Laura are already being manufactured. The Octavia is a key aspect in the largest model campaign in ŠKODA’s corporate history.  This campaign lights the way as the manufacturer continues on its path to growth. The ultimate aim of this growth strategy is to increase annual sales worldwide to at least 1.5 million vehicles per year.

ŠKODA has been present on the Indian market since 2001. In 2012 the brand increased their sales in the country by 14.2% to more than 30,000 vehicles. In the first seven months of 2013 alone, the Czechs sold 13,800 vehicles in the subcontinent. This means that around 178,300 ŠKODAs were delivered to Indian customers between 2001 and the end of July 2013.

ŠKODA Yeti completely renewed: From one Yeti comes two

› Design - Striking appearance, fresh interior, innovative technology features
› New - Compact SUV for the first time in two variants
› Ready for the tarmac jungle - The new ŠKODA Yeti for the city
› Room for adventure - The new ŠKODA Yeti Outdoor for outdoor enthusiasts
› Rear view - The first ŠKODA with a rear-view camera
› Reliable - Versatility on any terrain, modern all-wheel drive
› Lots of space and “Simply Clever” solutions
› Environment - New engine/transmission Combinations; Yeti GreenLine with only 119 g CO2/km
› World Premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, market launch end of 2013

Mladá Boleslav, 14 August 2013 – The ŠKODA Yeti is one of the most popular compact Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) – For the first time ever, the Czech compact-SUV will be available in two variants: as the elegant and stylish ŠKODA Yeti for the town, and an adventurous off-road ŠKODA Yeti Outdoor. Both design variations of the ŠKODA Yeti feature a new front and rear, new alloy wheels, fresh interiors, new “Simply Clever” ideas, the highest functionality and extended engine/gear combinations. Both new models are to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and by the end of 2013, both ŠKODA Yeti variants will have been launched on the first markets.

“The ŠKODA Yeti is one of the most attractive compact SUVs on the market and has far exceeded our sales expectations since its launch four years ago,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. He continues, “With this all-new look and being offered for the first time in two variations, we are establishing new benchmarks. We plan to continue our outstanding development in this rapidly growing vehicle class.”

Striking appearance – now in two variations

A special highlight is the first time offer of two individual design ranges: ŠKODA’s Compact SUV is now available in an elegant, stylish city look as well as an off-road look for trips in the country. A significant differentiation: the front and rear elements, such as bumpers, underride guard, side mouldings and door sills are either in the body colour or, as with the ŠKODA Yeti Outdoor, remain in black plastic. This off-road ŠKODA Yeti has series-standard silver exterior mirrors.

The ŠKODA Yeti incorporates the new ŠKODA design language. The front and rear sections have been prominently reinterpreted and the criteria of the new product language have clearly emerged: precise edges and lines with an emphasis on the horizontal and the new vehicle logo.

The new fronts of both vehicles are now horizontally more accentuated and feature a distinctive grille and redesigned headlights, available as an option for the first time with bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. In keeping with ŠKODA’s new design language, the front headlights are now rectangular and are now located further under the front bumpers.

The Yeti’s new rear has got a new layout. This includes a new form of tailgate with distinctive tail lights now in a precisely moulded C-Design, optionally available with LEDs, and, in line with the new ŠKODA look, two cubist triangular elements alongside the new ŠKODA logo.

The wheel program has been expanded with four newly designed, attractive alloy wheel designs. There is now a wider selection of colours available, including four new metallic finishes – ‘Moon-White’, ‘Jungle-Green’, ‘Metal-Grey’ and ‘Magnetic-Brown’. The latter is a Yeti L&K exclusive.

The new Yeti models have got an all-new fresh interior - with new 3-spoke steering wheels in seven variations, new fabrics and patterns for the seat covers as well as new decorative trims on the dashboard.

The first ŠKODA with rear-view camera

The Yeti is the brand’s first model with an optional Optical Parking Assistant; a rear-view camera. Thus ŠKODA continues in their use of practical and safety-related assistance systems.

This is the first time that the ŠKODA Yeti will feature the latest generation of the automatic parking assistant. The new system enables the Yeti to automatically reverse and parallel park and even pull out.  The new ŠKODA Yeti features the automatic lock and start system ‘KESSY’ for the first time. This system allows the car to be opened, locked and started automatically, without the key having to go into the ignition.

Spacious and functional: “Simply Clever” on the road

The revised ŠKODA Yeti has also received four new “Simply Clever” fittings. The double-sided floor covering in the boot is new in the Yeti but already a hit in various other ŠKODA models. There is also a detachable LED light in the boot, the vest holder under the driver's seat and the waste container in the side door of the Yeti.

In addition to the new features, the updated ŠKODA Yeti offers some familiar comfort features. These include the huge panoramic glass sunroof, the modern dual-zone air conditioning ‘Climatronic’, heated seats, cruise control, a heated windscreen and the power-adjustable driver's seat.

One highlight is, and remains, the ŠKODA Yeti’s VarioFlex rear seat system, offering unique interior versatility. The three rear seats can be individually folded or removed. The outer seats can be shifted across or down with the middle seat removed. In an instant, the Yeti is transformed from a five to a four seater, making more space for the rear passengers.

There are also the carried-over fittings, such as the fold-down passenger seat, folding tables on the backs of the front seats, various storage compartments and practical bottle holders. Functionality is a top priority in the boot, featuring among other things, fastening points and fold-down hooks.

Generous space is once again confirmed in the Yeti. In no other compact SUV do the rear passengers have as much headroom as in the ŠKODA Yeti - 1027 millimetres. The boot capacity is at least 405 litres. Pushing the rear seats forward will increase the size to 510 litres and removing the rear seats completely will increase the volume to a fantastic 1,760 litres.

Seven modern engines; front and all-wheel drive, manual transmission and DSG

There is a selection of four diesel and three petrol engines for the all-new ŠKODA Yeti - all turbocharged and with direct injection. The performance spectrum ranges from the 1.2 TSI with 77 kW and 105 hp to the 2.0 TDI with 125 kW/170 hp. The fifth generation front or all-wheel drive with Haldex coupling is fitted depending on the engine specs. With an automatic transmission, the ŠKODA Yeti exclusively uses the modern six or seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DSG).

The GreenLine version 1.6 TDI/77kW, front wheel drive and a manual gearbox, produces CO2 emissions of just 119 g/km. That corresponds to a consumption of 4.6 litres of diesel per 100 km (61 MPG). Additionally, there are three Green tec engine variants: the 2.0 TDI/103 kW with manual six-speed gearbox, and 1.6 TDI/77 kW with seven-speed DSG. The front-wheel drive 1.4 TSI/90 kW petrol engine with manual transmission is available exclusively in the fuel-efficient Green tec variant. The Green tec package includes the Start-Stop System, brake energy recovery (recuperation) and low rolling resistance tyres.

The diesel engine 2.0 TDI with 125 kW is now available with the fantastic combination of all-wheel drive and automatic six-speed dual clutch transmission. The front-wheel drive Yeti 1.6 TDI 77 kW is available with automatic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Safety without compromise

The ŠKODA Yeti is uncompromised in terms of safety, for which the compact SUV received the maximum 5-star rating in the 2009 Euro NCAP Crashtest.

Active safety is increased through ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and ABS (Anti-lock Breaking System) with Break Assist, which are fitted as standard in EU countries. The front fog lights can be optionally equipped with Corner Function. New bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights increase the visibility of the vehicle and the illumination of the road in the dark. Upon request, there are electronic assistants for up and down hill driving. Other options include the electronic tyre pressure monitoring system.

With electronically controlled all-wheel drive (fifth generation Haldex coupling), and a ground clearance of 180 mm, the compact SUV is ready for any terrain. The electronic differential lock EDS enables a smooth and comfortable start and grip on various road surfaces.

In terms of passive safety, the Yeti boasts up to nine airbags. Isofix points securely fasten child seats. Three-point seat belts in the front with belt tensioners and height adjustment and height-adjustable headrests complete the safety package.

International success story

With the ŠKODA Yeti, the Czech manufacturer celebrated their premier in the compact SUV segment in 2009. The Yeti is fast becoming one of the most successful vehicles in its class. To date a total of 263,200 ŠKODA Yetis have been sold (as of: 30th June, 2013). In 2012 alone, ŠKODA delivered around 87,400 Yetis– an increase of 24.3% over the previous year. And in the first half of 2013, 41,800 Yetis went to customers worldwide. In Europe, with a market share of around 5%, the Yeti is one of the best-selling A-Class SUVs in the Czech domestic market; it is the clear leader in this segment. The Yeti is built at the Czech plant in Kvasiny.

As part of the 2018 growth strategy, ŠKODA is increasingly turning to international growth markets. The Yeti has been produced in Russia since the end of 2012. Local production carried out in cooperation with the Russian manufacturer, GAZ Group, at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod. Since mid-2013, the Yeti has also been sold in China, currently as an import model. By the end of the year the Yeti will be available in a stretched version specifically for the Chinese market. It is produced locally with the partner Shanghai Volkswagen.

Since its market launch, the ŠKODA Yeti has touched the hearts of SUV enthusiasts, winning a total of 47 national and international awards and proven in a survey carried out by the trade magazine ‘Auto Express’, in which the Yeti, among others, was chosen by around 46,000 readers to be the car, with which UK customers were most satisfied.

ŠKODA continues the most comprehensive model campaign in corporate history with the release of two all-new variants of the Yeti at the same time. In 2013 alone, the Czechs will be bringing out eight new or completely revised models and by 2018 ŠKODA plans to increase their global sales to at least 1.5 million vehicles per year.

ŠKODA: 69,700 customer deliveries in July; Market shares increase in Western Europe

› New models successfully launched on first European markets
› ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback – the first ŠKODA hatchback in the compact segment available from October
› In July ŠKODA increases market share and sales in Western Europe despite challenging market conditions
› Orders increase globally

Mladá Boleslav, 15 August 2013 – ŠKODA has been able to increase their market share in Western Europe thanks to increasing customer orders in July. Not only did the Czech brands make gains in major individual markets such as Germany and the UK, but also in Ireland, Denmark, Finland and Italy. Despite the generally difficult economic situation, the Czech manufacturer reached vehicle sales of 69,700 in July (July 2012: 72,600; -4.0 %). Between January and July 2013 ŠKODA made 534,300 vehicle deliveries to customers (January to July 2012: 565,600; -5.5 %). ŠKODA’s sales development in 2013 has been influenced by the start of production and corresponding reduction in capacity of the new ŠKODA Octavia model range and the renewed ŠKODA Superb. The third generation of the ŠKODA Octavia has proved to be a hit with a higher number of orders coming in than expected.

“The new ŠKODA models have been a great success with our customers worldwide”, says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing. He continues, “We were able to increase our deliveries to customers in Western Europe by almost five per cent in July, in the largest European individual market, Germany, by as much as ten per cent. The development of orders across the globe is particularly encouraging.
