The new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine: More than 1780 km on a Single Tank

› ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW consumes impressive 3.7 l/100 km -and emits just 95g CO2/km (saloon version) ´
› Reduction in fuel consumption due to engine modifications and optimizing aerodynamics
› Already 33 ŠKODA models less than 100g CO2/km, 105 models below 120g CO2/km

Mladá Boleslav, 25 August 2015 – The new ŠKODA Superb boasts extremely low fuel consumption. This is particularly true of the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine that ŠKODA will be presenting to the public for the first time at the IAA (Frankfurt International Motor Show). With an impressive fuel consumption of 3.7 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 95 g/km (hatchback version), the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW sets the environmental standard in its segment - both estate and hatchback version. With one trip to the petrol station, you can drive the ‘green’ version of ŠKODA’s new flagship more than 1780 kilometres.

The ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW is equipped with a manual six-speed gearbox. Just as the engines in the standard Superb, the 1.6 TDI is fitted with a start-stop system and brake energy recovery (recuperation) as standard. Additional features of the new GreenLine-Version include longer gear ratios and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction).

Moreover, the body, chassis and underbody of the ŠKODA Superb GreenLine has been aerodynamically fine-tuned. The chassis is 15 mm lower than the standard Superb. The Superb GreenLine features a tailgate spoiler; the Superb estate GreenLine has a roof spoiler. These adjustments contribute to significantly improved aerodynamics for the Superb GreenLine models, giving it a lower drag coefficient: The Superb GreenLine achieves a value of 0.263; the Superb Combi GreenLine comes to 0.275.

The ŠKODA Superb GreenLine achieves a combined diesel consumption of just 3.7 l/100 km. The CO2 emissions stand at only 95 g/km. The new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW (both estate and saloon version) sets environmental standards in its segment. After only filling up once (66 l diesel) the Superb Greenline can do travel over 1780 km.

To meet the various emission standards around the world, the Superb utilizes two exhaust gas treatment units: an oxidation catalytic converter and diesel particulate filters. The nitrogen oxides are reduced through the Superb GreenLine’s SCR system, using the reducing agent AdBlue. This synthetically manufactured, 32.5% solution of high-purity urea in demineralised water treats the diesel exhaust, not only reducing nitrogen oxides, but also saving fuel.

The reduced rolling resistance tyres are mounted on 16-inch wheels, with 17-inch available on request. The ŠKODA Superb GreenLine is marked on the boot door with a GreenLine badge. The rear side windows and the back window are tinted (sunset), the fog lights are equipped with Corner Function.

The Greenline version is on offer with equipment versions ‘Active’, ‘Ambition’ and ‘Style’. Since 2008, the GreenLine term has denoted the most economical fuel-saving ŠKODA model in a model series.

Sustainability and environmental protection are key elements in ŠKODA’s corporate strategy. At ŠKODA, individual mobility starts at 79 g CO2/km for the natural gas-powered city car ŠKODA Citigo G-TEC. Alongside the newcomer, 33 ŠKODA models produce CO2 emissions below 100 g/km; 105 ŠKODA models emit less than 100 g/km, and 105 ŠKODA models emit less than 120 g CO2/km. In addition to the ŠKODA GreenLine models, natural gas vehicles are an important cornerstone of the company’s sustainable product strategy. ŠKODA offers three attractive G-TEC models: the Citigo G-TEC, Octavia G-TEC and Octavia estate G-TEC.

ŠKODA’s path is clearly defined: Eco-friendly mobility must remain affordable – for the benefit of customers and the environment. By the new ŠKODA Superb’s launch date at the end of May, the manufacturer had converted their entire European engine range to the modern, eco-friendly EU-6 engines. All ŠKODA models are now available with the latest petrol and diesel engines from the Volkswagen Group, which include stop-start systems and brake energy recovery (recuperation).

Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik: Five ŠKODA Classics at the Northern Rally

› Rolling rarities: From the legendary ŠKODA Tudor built in 1948 to the classic ŠKODA Rapid S 135
› ŠKODA taking part in the ‘Rally of the North’ for the sixth time
› 730 km, 180 cars; three days of leisurely driving

Mladá Boleslav, 26 August 2015 – Spectators at the 8th Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik can look forward to five ŠKODA classics this year. The rolling rarities from Mladá Boleslav demonstrate the variety of ŠKODA’s long history, ranging from the elegant convertible ŠKODA 1101 Tudor dating back to 1948 to the classic ŠKODA Rapid S 135 from the 1980s.

The 8th Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik takes place from 27 to 29 August along scenic routes from Berlin, for the first time through Goslar, over the Harz mountains towards Wolfsburg, finishing in Hamburg. The tour is regarded as the finest vintage and classic-car rally in the north. Under the motto ‘Driving at Leisure’, the route will take the participants along some of the most beautiful roads in northern Germany. 180 classic and vintage cars will be embarking on the journey. After three days, six stages, 730 kilometres and numerous special trials, the winner shall be announced on 29 August at Hamburg's Fish Auction Hall.

“We are delighted to be participating in this year’s Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik. This is the sixth time we’ve taken part in the rally,” explains Michal Velebný, coordinator of the restoration workshop at the ŠKODA Museum. “Taking part in this fantastic rally is an absolute must for ŠKODA. This year we’ll be showing special highlights from the period between 1948 and the 1980s.”

The oldest ŠKODA vehicle at the Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik is the ŠKODA 1101 built in 1948. The elegant convertible is an important representative of the post-WWII automotive era. The two-door ŠKODA 1101 is commonly known by the name Tudor. The vehicle, powered by a 1.1-litre engine with 32 horsepower, reaches top speeds of 100 km/h. The Tudor – an often-seen treat at vintage car rallies – is considered particularly reliable and robust.

The faithfully restored ŠKODA 440 Spartak dating back to 1958 is sure to captivate the spectators at the Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik. This eye-catching vintage car is powered by a 40-hp engine with 1089 cm3 displacement. The ŠKODA 1000 MB Rallye is a sporty globetrotter that was built in 1967. The racing car, constructed on the basis of the ŠKODA 1000 MB, has taken part in several long-distance rallies, including the London-Mexico and the Panama-Alaska. Even at first glance, the 1000 MB Rally shows off its sporty character with flashy sports seats, a protective frame and a Tripmaster for measuring distances accurately. The engine at 90 hp accelerates the vehicle to a top speed of 170 km/h and an engine sound to really impress the crowds.

The racing legend ŠKODA 130 RS built in 1976 offers pure emotion, with seven-time German rally champion Matthias Kahle behind the wheel. Winning the European Touring Car Championship in 1981 and the class victory in the Monte Carlo Rally, the 130 RS is an outstanding representative of ŠKODA’s 114-year motorsport history and one of the most fascinating racing cars of its time. ŠKODA’s impressive quintet in the north is rounded off with one very special classic car: the ŠKODA Rapid S 135. The coupé produced in the 1980s features a 58 hp 1.3-litre engine. The Rapid S 135 is becoming increasingly popular among collectors.

The starting gun for this year’s Hamburg-Berlin-Klassik will be fired at Berlin’s Olympic stadium, and the first cars will be crossing the finish line two days later against the spectacular backdrop of the Fish Auction Hall at Hamburg harbour. The rally is a performance trial event, evaluating uniformity and reliability, meaning that the competition is not necessarily about achieving the highest speeds. Automobiles of historical importance built before 1995 have been entered into the rally.

This year will mark 120 years of ŠKODA AUTO, making the company one of the longest-established automotive companies in the world. The brand’s roots date back to 1895. At that time, the bicycle mechanic Václav Laurin and bookshop keeper Václav Klement founded a factory for the production of bicycles in Mladá Boleslav, Bohemia. Automobile production was launched in 1905 with the ‘Voiturette A’. What began in 1895 with Laurin and Klement has grown into an internationally successful volume manufacturer with 7 model series and 36 model versions. Producing over 17 million ŠKODA cars since 1905 proves the strength of the brand.

ŠKODA SmartGate: Smart driving

› SmartGate System: in-car networking with ŠKODA custom-designed apps
› ‘Simply Clever’: view useful information on the vehicle and driving behaviour on your smart device
› Compatible with Android, iOS and Windows Phone

Mladá Boleslav, 31 August 2015 – ŠKODA is picking up the pace when it comes to connectivity across their model range. The ŠKODA Fabia, Octavia, Rapid, Rapid Spaceback, Yeti and Superb currently offer innovative solutions to in-car networking with your own smartphone or tablet.  SmartLink and SmartGate functions bridge the connection between car and mobile.  While SmartLink lets you use smartphone apps on the infotainment system screen, SmartGate gives you access to vehicle data on your phone. Using these functions and associated apps, a smartphone or tablet can be connected to the car in order to retrieve useful information, for example on fuel economy, drive dynamics and servicing.

Using the new SmartGate app developed by ŠKODA, certain vehicle data can be displayed on the smartphone or tablet. SmartGate can specify around 40 different parameters on the vehicle.

With SmartGate and the corresponding apps, users can retrieve useful information, for example, on consumption or speed. This data can even be shared with friends and family on social media. Data is transferred wirelessly and the apps are supported by Android, iOS (Apple) and Windows Phone. For security reasons, users should change the corresponding security password after the SmartGate function is first activated.

ŠKODA is continually optimizing and expanding the operation and functionality of the applications. Values, such as the average speed, cost and other information, can be displayed on the ŠKODA Drive App. Similarly, you can look at the distance travelled on a map. The journey list can be saved on the ŠKODA Drive Portal. This is where you can also manage the data and get useful statistics and graphs, and share them with friends.

The ŠKODA Service App is useful in certain emergency situations. As a kind of mobile assistant, the application provides functions and information on the vehicle whenever needed.

The ŠKODA G-Meter App analyses driving behaviour from another perspective. G value, acceleration, speed, engine revs, brake actuation, gearshifts and accelerator pedal pressure are displayed. The application warns the driver when a predetermined value is exceeded.

The ŠKODA MFA-Pro App turns your smartphone into an extended on-board computer (MFA stands for Multifunktionsanzeige or multifunctional display in English). This makes it possible to access more than 40 parameters in the on-board system.

While you drive, the ŠKODA Performance App records and subsequently analyses specific parameters on vehicle performance, such as speed, engine RPM, acceleration,  accelerator pedal force and braking time.

The ŠKODA MotorSound App simulates the engine sound of the vehicle. The simulation is based on the analysed accelerator pedal and engine revolution data. Three engine sounds are available.

The ŠKODA Smart Racer App provides racing game entertainment during the trip. The speed of the game cars adjusts to the real-time speed of you driving your ŠKODA.

Download the apps free from the Apple Store, Google Play and Windows Store.

ŠKODA Passion at Frankfurt Motor Show 2015

› Giant: New ŠKODA Superb Combi celebrates motor show premiere
› Sporty appearance: New ŠKODA Superb SportLine
› Over 1,780 km on a single tank: New ŠKODA Superb GreenLine
› Racy look: New ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo
› Bold: New ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine
› Horsepower: ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi
› ŠKODA in Frankfurt, 1,732 m2 in hall 3

Mladá Boleslav/Frankfurt, 4 September 2015 – ŠKODA’s passion for expressive design and their new model versions will be on show to the world at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). One special highlight at the IAA (15 to 27 September 2015) will be the new ŠKODA Superb Combi. The mid-class estate, making its first appearance at an international motor show, combines expressive design and state-of-the-art technology with an impressively large interior. The public will also have the chance to take a closer look at the sporty new ŠKODA Superb SportLine and the ŠKODA Superb GreenLine – the most fuel-efficient and low-emission version of the brand’s flagship. The ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo and ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback will also be making their trade-show debut, highlighting the brand’s passion for precision, alongside the powerful ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi show car.

A few short months following the successful market launch of the new Superb hatch, ŠKODA will be presenting the estate version of their flagship in Frankfurt for the first time at an international motor show. Just like the hatch version, the ŠKODA Superb estate has reached an exciting new level in terms of technology and design. “ŠKODA plans to grow further by placing increasing emphasis on emotion alongside the brand’s core values of space and functionality,” explains ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “The new ŠKODA Superb Combi is the realisation of our goal to provide the perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality in the automotive mid-class.”

The new ŠKODA Superb Combi impressively transforms the expressive design of the Superb hatch into the bodywork of a dynamic and elegant mid-class estate. Based on innovative MQB technology, this ‘balancing act’ has also led to the model having the largest interior space in its segment. This applies to both the unusually spacious interior as well as the boot. The total load capacity in the boot is almost 2,000 litres – a size that is otherwise only found in the upper mid-class.

The new ŠKODA Superb Combi has reached a whole new level in terms ofComfort. One particular highlight is the adaptive chassis control system Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), including Driving Mode Select. There are new air-conditioning systems, including for the first time new three-zone climate control, also an electric-opening panoramic sunroof, auxiliary heating, heated seats, rain-light sensor and wirelessly heated windscreen and heated windscreen washer jets. The electric boot can be opened by moving your foot under the rear of the vehicle. New systems make getting in and out of parking spaces easier than ever. Another great feature is having an umbrella in each of the front doors.

The ŠKODA Superb Combi also offers the highest quality in terms of connectivity. The new infotainment systems automatically connect to many smartphones, so that selected applications can be used on the vehicle’s multiscreen. Vehicle data can be accessed using the SmartGate function on your mobile device. With high-speed Internet access, the new ŠKODA Superb Combi becomes a hotspot on wheels. You can even control the infotainment system from the backseat using the ŠKODA Media Command App.

No compromises - that is the motto when it comes to safety. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi has all the assistance systems found in the new Superb hatch. Installed as standard in all EU countries, the model features Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Multi-Collision Brake (integrated into ESC), electronic tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic differential lock (EDL) with the extended XDS+ function and seven airbags. Available options include automatic distance control (Adaptive Cruise Control), proactive occupant protection (Crew Protect Assist), Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot Detect, Rear Traffic Alert, Emergency Assist, fatigue detection (Driver Alert), Speedlimiter, traffic sign recognition (Travel Assist) and Hill-Hold Control. Also available: the masked high beam Smart Light Assist, Light Assist and Adaptive Frontlight System.

The new ŠKODA Superb Combi achieves record consumption and emissionvalues. The new model consumes and emits up to 30 per cent less fuel and CO2 compared to its predecessor, whilst the engine power has increased up to 20 per cent. All-wheel drive is available for four Superb engines.

Sporty design – the new ŠKODA Superb SportLine

The new ŠKODA Superb SportLine, which will be celebrating its world premiere in Frankfurt, features a distinctly sporty appearance. Both the hatch and estate versions of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine have sporty design elements in the exterior and interior, as well as comprehensive equipment. With the exception of the respective base petrol and diesel drivetrains, the ŠKODA Superb SportLine will be available with all the current Superb engines.

The most noteworthy features of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine include the black 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, the tinted rear side windows and back window (sunset), and the sport chassis lowered by 15 mm. The interior of the SportLine version includes a three-spoke sports steering wheel and gear knob finished in leather, sports seats with exclusive seat covers, pedals in an aluminium finish and trim elements in carbon.

Just 3.7 litres diesel per 100 km – the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine

The new Superb also scores well when it comes to the environment. This is especially true for the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW. With fuel consumption of just 3.7 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 95 g per km (hatchback), the ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW sets the environmental standards within its segment both as a hatchback and an estate. On a full tank, the ‘green’ version of the new ŠKODA flagship has a maximum range of up to 1,780 km. Adjustments to the engine and gearbox technology, low-resistance tyres and aerodynamic improvements have made this possible.

Sporty elegance – the new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo

Also celebrating its world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt, the new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo will be heading to dealerships in November with a fresh look, sporty interior and the latest extras. This is the brand’s sixth model in their impressive Monte-Carlo range.

Black 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, the black finish of the radiator grille frame, exterior mirror housings, front and rear spoilers, doorsills and rear diffuser emphasise the model’s powerful presence on the road. A Monte-Carlo badge is affixed to each of the B pillars. The rear side windows and back window are tinted (SunSet), as are the rear lights. Electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors, xenon headlights and tinted fog lights come as standard. The sporty look continues to the interior; the three-spoke sports steering wheel in leather matches the gearstick and handbrake, complemented by individual sports seats and other design elements.

Young adventurous compact – the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine

ŠKODA will be presenting the special version of their compact hatchback for the first time at a motor show this September in Frankfurt. The ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine pulls up with black and silver spoilers, black panelling around the sills and wheel arches, silver 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels and silver door mirror housings.

Real power – the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi

Rounding off ŠKODA’s emotional appearance in Frankfurt, the brand will be presenting two masters of speed – the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi. The ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 combines expressive design with modern technology and impressive horsepower. The Octavia RS 230 is ŠKODA’s first model to feature an electronically controlled limited-slip differential for particularly dynamic cornering as standard. The additional '230' designation refers to the horsepower of the RS special edition: under the bonnet, you will find a 169 kW/230 PS two-litre petrol engine. In combination with a manual six-speed gearbox, the Octavia RS 230 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, making the Octavia RS 230 the fastest series-produced Octavia of all time.

In addition, the Czech car manufacturer will be presenting the ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi. The estate version of the brand’s successful rally car – the ŠKODA Fabia R5 – has a dynamic look with its distinctive green-white-black finish and 18-inch alloy wheels. The widened chassis houses genuine racing technology, including the 1.6-litre turbo engine with 205 kW (279 hp).

ŠKODA Delivers 70,700 Vehicles in August

› Growth in Western and Central Europe, significant increase in India
› Models: Fabia and Superb saloon with high growth rates in Western Europe
› Market conditions in China, Russia and Eastern Europe remain tense

Mladá Boleslav, 7 September 2015 – ŠKODA delivered 70,700 vehicles around the world in August 2015. The economic situation in China, Russia and Eastern Europe has led to a decline in overall deliveries by 3.4% compared to last year (August 2014: 73,200). However, the Czech car manufacturer has recorded significant growth in Western and Central Europe, India and Turkey. High growth rates were recorded for the latest generation ŠKODA Fabia (30.3%) and Superb Hatch (up 132.1%) in Western Europe.

“The overall economic situation in China, Russia and Eastern Europe continues to affect the automotive markets. The promising developments in Western and Central Europe, however, have only been able to partly offset the decline in other regions,” explains Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing.

In Western Europe, ŠKODA’s deliveries increased 10.6% to 27,100 in August (August 2014: 24,500). In Germany, the Czech carmaker sold 11,600 vehicles. This represents an increase of 10.9% compared to August 2014 (10,500) where ŠKODA continues to hold the number-one position among the imported brands. The manufacturer achieved double and even triple-digit growth in the markets of Great Britain (3000 vehicles; up 14.3%), Spain (1300 vehicles; up 54.6%), France (1300 vehicles; up 12.7%), Ireland (500 vehicles; up 35.7%) and Greece (500 vehicles; up 162.8%).

In Russia where the overall market is in decline, ŠKODA recorded 4300 deliveries in August (August 2014: 6800 vehicles; down 36.3%). In Eastern Europe, excluding Russia, ŠKODA delivered 2300 vehicles in August (August 2014: 3200; down 28.5%). In Serbia, the brand’s deliveries increased by double figures (400 vehicles; up 11.0%). ŠKODA could not evade the weak market in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

In Central Europe, ŠKODA’s sales soared by 9.3% over the previous year to 12,200 vehicles (August 2014: 11,200 vehicles). The brand recorded double-digit growth in their home market of the Czech Republic, where deliveries rose by 14.0% to 6700 vehicles (August 2014: 5900 vehicles). ŠKODA also made double-digit sales increases in Slovakia (1400 vehicles; up 10.7%) and Hungary (700 vehicles; up 23.1%).

The market situation has remained challenging in China where ŠKODA sold 19,100 vehicles in August (August 2014: 21,600; down 11.4%). However, the brand recorded a clear increase in sales of 13.4% in India, where 1100 vehicles were delivered following the 1000 units last August. There was also double-digit growth in Turkey (1400 vehicles; up 16.5%), Australia (300 vehicles; up 11.7%) and New Zealand (100 vehicles; up 34.3%).

ŠKODA deliveries to customers in August 2015 (in units, rounded off, by model; +/- in percent compared to August 2015):

ŠKODA Octavia; (29,900; +20.7 %)
ŠKODA Fabia; (14,300; +27.9 %)
ŠKODA Rapid; (12,600; -33.4 %)
ŠKODA Yeti; (6900; -3.5 %)
ŠKODA Superb; (3800; -43.5 %)
ŠKODA Roomster; (600; -69.0 %)
ŠKODA Citigo; (only sold in Europe: 2600; +4.1 %)

Milestone: 1,000 ŠKODA dealerships in the new corporate design

› Transformation of the ŠKODA dealer network to the new corporate identity (CI) is fully underway
› Modern dealership CI creates the ideal platform to present ŠKODA’s attractive model range
› ‘Human Touch strategy’: comprehensive dealer training in customer-friendly procedures
› New design is an important pillar of ŠKODA’s growth strategy

Mladá Boleslav, 10 September 2015 – The transition of ŠKODA’s global dealer network to the new design is making significant progress. The Klokočka car dealership in Prague marks the 1,000th ŠKODA dealership to shift their business to the new ŠKODA corporate design. The new dealership branding is focused on the needs of the customer. Alongside visual improvements, all processes and procedures in the dealership are geared towards providing the highest levels of customer service and the ‘Human Touch’ strategy is being consistently implemented. Launched at the end of 2013, the comprehensive rebranding of the sales partners is an integral part of ŠKODA’s growth strategy.

“The conversion of the 1,000th dealership in the world is an important milestone for ŠKODA,” said ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing, Werner Eichhorn. “The new dealer CI offers the ideal environment for our attractive model range. At the same time, we will ensure that all processes in the car dealership are even more focused on the needs of customers. Over the coming years, we will further improve business processes and offer our customers a range of new services in the medium term: from a new car configurator to enhanced service offers,” said Eichhorn.

The aim of the showrooms’ new design is quick, direct and clear communication. “The car dealership is the place where we can bring our ‘Human Touch’ strategy to life,” said Werner Eichhorn. Therefore, openness and transparency are the main themes of the new design. The design follows function. High-quality materials, new design features, effective lighting solutions and warm wooden tones create an inviting atmosphere. The central eye-catcher is the ‘highlight wall’ located opposite the entrance area. All sales and service areas also come in a new design.

Outside, the new architecture of ŠKODA’s dealerships is characterised by clear and simple shapes, a harmonious colour concept, modular design features and a modern lighting concept. New communication areas on the exterior facade will improve visibility by day and at night.

The transformation to the new CI is accompanied by intensive training within the dealer network and all activities are based on delivering the highest levels of customer service.

In 2014, ŠKODA sold more than a million cars for the first time. By doing so, the Czech car manufacturer has finally established itself as an international volume brand. ŠKODA entered a new era earlier this year with the new ŠKODA Superb. The design, emotional resonance and quality of the cars are taking on a new significance which is reflected in ŠKODA’s new dealership design. The response to the new dealership branding is extremely positive, both from the ŠKODA partners and from the customers. This does not just mean feedback on the design. The dealers who already have the new CI in place have also seen higher footfall.

ŠKODA at the IAA - Press Kit

› The new ŠKODA Superb Combi: racy and spacious, elegant and dynamic
› SportLine: the new ŠKODA Superb in a particularly sporty version
› More than 1,780 km without refuelling: the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine
› Dynamic design: the new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo expands the Monte Carlo family to six models
› Rugged appearance: the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine
› PS-power: the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and the ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi

Mladá Boleslav/Frankfurt, 15 September 2015 – After the successful launch of the new ŠKODA Superb, ŠKODA still has its foot on the gas in expanding its model range. At this year’s International Motor Show (IAA), the car manufacturer is demonstrating its growth ambition with seven new models and model variants. The highlight of ŠKODA’s presence in Frankfurt is the exhibition launch of the new ŠKODA Superb Combi. The new ŠKODA Superb SportLine, a sporty version of the new ŠKODA Superb, makes its world premiere and the ŠKODA Superb GreenLine is also making its debut. The motor show premieres of the ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo and the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine, as well as the sporty ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and the ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi show car emphasise the dynamic ambitions of the brand.

“ŠKODA intends to grow further. In addition to our core brand values such as space and functionality, we are increasingly focusing on emotions to achieve this,” said ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “Our brand has taken a huge leap forward with the new ŠKODA Superb. Our new flagship impressively shows that the design, quality and emotional resonance of our cars have a new significance. Over the next few years, we want to strengthen this brand aspiration.”

A few months after the successful market launch of the new Superb hatchback, ŠKODA is presenting the new estate version of its flagship model for the first time at a motor show. Just like the hatchback, the ŠKODA Superb Combi reaches new heights in terms of design and technology. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi impressively transitions the expressive design of the hatchback into the body of a racy mid-class estate: modern, emotive and dynamically elegant. With the use of innovative MQB technology, the designers have even succeeded in improving the already above-average interior space of its predecessor.

“With its expressive appearance, our flagship model highlights our aspirations in the automotive mid-class segment and proves the brand’s engineering and design expertise. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi combines aesthetics and functionality in a particularly beautiful way,” said Vahland.

The design of the new ŠKODA Superb Combi is proof of the brand’s emotive power. Its design language signifies sophistication, dynamic elegance and balanced proportions. At the same time, the new generation model shines with its improved functionality and even more space. The perfect fusion of form, function and technology.

The new ŠKODA Superb Combi wows with the best interior space within its segment. All the relevant interior dimensions have been increased. A major factor here is the use of MQB technology which has made a longer wheelbase and wider track possible.

The result is significantly more space in the front and rear. Driver and passenger can enjoy 39 mm more elbow width as well as increased headroom. The space in the rear is almost ‘stately’. The rear kneeroom is now 157 mm, double the size of the next-best competitor. The headroom dimensions (995 mm clearance above the seat in the front, 1,001 mm in the rear) are also top. Last but not least, no other direct competitor offers a boot as big as this one. When the seats are in their upright position, the boot can hold 660 litres; when the seats are folded down it is an incredible 1,950 litres.

The new ŠKODA Superb Combi also has 31 Simply Clever features to make life that little bit easier for the driver and passengers.

The ŠKODA Superb Combi has reached new levels in terms of comfort. The highlight is adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) which includes Driving Mode Select. Completely new air conditioning systems, including three-zone climate control for the first time, ensure an optimal temperature and the best air quality. An electric slide and-tilt panoramic sun roof is available as an optional extra. For colder times of the year, there are heated seats (front and rear), auxiliary heating, a wireless heated windscreen and heated washer jets. The rain/light sensor automatically switches the windscreen wipers on and off, and also switches the headlights between daytime running light and dipped beam.

In every respect, the ŠKODA engineers have set the goal to make life in the ŠKODA Superb as pleasant and simple as possible: there is an umbrella in each of the two front doors. The new, electric tailgate can be operated with the Virtual Pedal. It enables the boot to be opened by moving the foot close to the rear bumper. Driving in and out of parking spaces is now much easier. The newest generation of Park Assist is available as an optional extra; it comes with parking sensors, a rear-view camera and an electric parking brake.
The new ŠKODA Superb Combi offers the very best when it comes to connectivity. The new infotainment systems automatically connect with many smartphones so that selected apps can be used on the car’s display. Vehicle data can be recalled and used via the SmartGate function. The high-speed internet connection makes the new ŠKODA Superb Combi a real ‘hotspot’ on wheels. Thanks to the ŠKODA Media Command App and the Wi-Fi hotspot, you can even operate the infotainment system from the rear of the car.

No compromises - that is the motto when it comes to safety. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi has all the assistance systems found in the new Superb hatchback. Installed as standard in all EU countries, the model features Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Multi-Collision Brake (integrated into ESC), electronic tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic differential lock (EDL) with the extended XDS+ function and seven airbags. Available options include automatic distance control (Adaptive Cruise Control), proactive occupant protection (Crew Protect Assist), Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot Detect, Rear Traffic Alert, Emergency Assist, fatigue detection (Driver Alert), Speedlimiter, traffic sign recognition (Travel Assist) and Hill-Hold Control. Also available: Adaptive Frontlight System, Light Assist and the masked high beam Smart Light Assist.

The new ŠKODA Superb Combi has reached new standards in terms of consumption and emissions. The new model consumes and emits up to 30 per cent less fuel and CO2 compared to its predecessor. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi GreenLine consumes just 3.7 l/100 km and emits 96 g of CO2 per km. Despite the reduction in fuel consumption, the power of the new engines has increased by up to 20 per cent. Four of the engines come with all-wheel drive.

The new Superb SportLine with its racy good looks

The new ŠKODA Superb SportLine scores points with its particularly sporty appearance as it celebrates its world premiere in Frankfurt. This fearless version of the ŠKODA Superb and of the ŠKODA Superb Combi shows a racy design, sporty interior, unique technical highlights and a comprehensive range of specifications.

Features of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine include the 18- (anthracite) or 19-inch (burnished black) alloy wheels, black design features on the exterior of the car, the tinting of the rear side and the rear windows (SunSet) as well as the 15-mm-lower sports suspension.

Inside the car, the SportLine design has an array of sporty features, including a leather three-spoke sports steering wheel and gear knob, sport seats with exclusive seat covers, aluminium-look pedals and carbon-style trim.

The technology of the Superb SportLine excites with its electronic differential lock and enhanced XDS+ function. Driving Mode Select comes as standard. This allows the driver to choose the driving performance at the touch of a button. Adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is available as an optional extra.

With the exception of the entry-level petrol and diesel engines, the ŠKODA Superb SportLine will be available with all current Superb engine versions.

Only 3.7 litres of diesel per 100 km - the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine

The new Superb is not only sporty, but it also scores well when it comes to the environment. This is especially true for the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW which makes its debut in Frankfurt. With fuel consumption of just 3.7 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 95 g per km (hatchback), the ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW sets the environmental standards within its segment both as a hatchback and an estate. On a full tank, the ‘green’ version of the new ŠKODA flagship has a maximum range of more than 1,780 km. Adjustments to the engine and gearbox technology, low-resistance tyres and aerodynamic improvements have made this possible.

The new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo makes it half a dozen

With the new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo, the Czech car manufacturer has grown its emotive Monte Carlo family to six models. The new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo celebrates its world premiere in Frankfurt.

The strong, characterful design of the Rapid Monte Carlo is emphasised by the black 16 inch or 17-inch alloy wheels as well as the black radiator grille frame, exterior mirror housings, front and rear spoilers, side panels and rear diffuser. The tinted rear side and rear windows add a cool touch. The standard xenon headlights and black shades on the front fog lights are particularly striking.

The car’s interior has a sporty design with a leather package for the sports steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake as well as customised sport seats and even more unique design details. The spec is based on the Ambition trim level.

From November, ŠKODA’s Monte Carlo model range will include the ŠKODA models Citigo, Fabia, Fabia Combi, Rapid, Rapid Spaceback and Yeti.

Young compact adventurer – the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine

With the new special model ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine, ŠKODA is fulfilling the customer wish for individually designed versions and is presenting its compact hatchback model with a special outdoor design. It is a motor show premiere for the Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine.

The car appears ready for an adventure. The front and rear bumpers come with striking panels in matt black and Reflex Silver (middle section). The protective plastic side panels around sills and wheel arches are also painted in matt black.

In addition, there are silver-coloured 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels and Reflex Silver exterior mirror housings. The entire colour range of the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback is available for the exterior.

Real sportsters – the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and the ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi

ŠKODA’s emotive presence in Frankfurt is rounded off with two PS-superstars: the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and the ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi.

Since June 2015, the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 has been impressing with its racy design, sporty interior, modern technology and impressive PS-power. The Octavia RS 230 is the first ŠKODA to be fitted with an electronic limited-slip differential as standard, which provides exceptionally dynamic cornering. The ‘230’ descriptor refers to the special RS model’s power output: it has a 169-kW or 230-PS two-litre petrol engine under the bonnet. Combined with the manual six-speed gearbox, the Octavia RS 230 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h. This makes the Octavia RS 230 the fastest production Octavia of all time.

The ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi show car is the estate version of ŠKODA’s Fabia R5 rally car. The striking Fabia R5 Combi is conspicuous with green/white/black paintwork, 18 inch aluminium wheels and a rally appearance. Real motorsport technology is hidden under the widened bodywork, including the 1.6-litre turbo engine with 205 kW (279 PS).

› ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. H. C. Winfried Vahland presents the new Superb Combi alongside German cyclist Marcel Kittel
› Ideal car for family, work and leisure: Superb Combi offers most room in its segment, the highest functionality and emotive design
› Reaching a new dimension in safety, comfort and connectivity

Mladá Boleslav/Frankfurt, 15 September 2015 – Motor Show premiere for the new ŠKODA Superb Combi: Alongside German professional cyclist Marcel Kittel, ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. hc Winfried Vahland today presented the new mid-class estate to the public for the first time at the International Motor Show (IAA). The new ŠKODA Superb Combi offers the ideal combination of outstanding space, expressive design and state-of-the-art technology. ŠKODA’s new flagship will be heading to dealerships immediately after the IAA.

“ŠKODA is increasingly focusing on emotion and passion,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “The new ŠKODA Superb Combi emphasises this bold claim. In addition to an outstanding amount of space, high practicality and innovative technology, it’s our latest model’s emotional design that sets it apart.”

Even pro cyclist Kittel was impressed by the brand’s latest estate model: “To claim victory as a professional cyclist, it’s important to find exactly the right bike for you. A bike you know is going to be great from the first metre and you can rely on. I had that same feeling with the new ŠKODA Superb Combi. I was convinced at first sight.”

ŠKODA and cycling have gone hand in hand for the last 120 years. It was in 1895 that the company launched their production of bicycles. Since then, cycling has been a cornerstone in ŠKODA’s sponsorship strategy. In addition to the Tour de France, the carmaker supports various other international cycling races, such as the ‘Vuelta’ Tour of Spain, as well as numerous national and international grass-roots cycling events.  “Our company’s success story began 120 years ago with the construction of bicycles. This is why promoting cycling around the world is one of our great commitments – be it for professionals, families or leisure activities.”

The ŠKODA Superb Combi has reached a new level in terms of design and technology, and the model meets the highest demands on design and functionality. The dynamic and elegant Superb Combi offers the most space in its segment with the highest comfort.  There are also innovative solutions for excellent connectivity and a comprehensive range of active and passive safety systems, including the latest assistance systems. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi sets new records in fuel consumption and emissions with improvements of up to 30 percent compared to its predecessor.

A particularly sporty version of the new ŠKODA Superb is soon to be released: Both the saloon and estate versions of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine have sporty design elements in the exterior and interior, as well as comprehensive equipment packages.  The most noteworthy features of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine include the black 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels, the tinted rear side windows and back window (sunset), and the sport chassis lowered by 15 mm. The interior of the SportLine version includes a three-spoke sports steering wheel and gear stick finished in leather, sports seats with exclusive upholstery, pedals in an aluminium finish and trim elements in carbon.

The Superb SportLine sports the very latest technology with electronic differential lock including XDS+ extended function. Driving Mode Selection, which comes as series standard, allows the driver to adjust certain performance characteristics at the push of a button. Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is also available upon request.

With the exception of the respective base petrol and diesel drivetrains, the ŠKODA Superb SportLine will be available with all the current Superb engines.

ŠKODA Octavia RS: Now with all-wheel drive and six-speed DSG

› Premiere: ŠKODA Octavia RS 2.0 TDI/135 kW with all-wheel drive and dual-clutch transmission
› Performance package: Perfect combination of power, sport and practicality
› Advanced technology: Four-wheel drive in combination with six-speed DSG
› Best acceleration: From 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds; top speed 228 km/h
› Successful model: More than 58,000 of the third-generation Octavia RS sold since 2013

Mladá Boleslav, 24 September 2015 – Shortly after introducing the new special edition Octavia RS 230, ŠKODA releases the next big name in their Octavia RS series: the powerful sports compact is now available with all-wheel drive. 4×4 drive for the Octavia RS diesel 2.0 TDI/135 kW (184 hp) in combination with six-speed DSG is available on the first markets as of now. This combination of all-wheel drive and sports performance turn the ŠKODA Octavia RS hatch and estate into an impressive performance package. The third-generation Octavia RS released in 2013 is a genuine success story, with more than 58,000 sold to date.

“Our first all-wheel drive ŠKODA Octavia RS expands our RS range with another highly attractive version, highlighting our expertise in 4x4 technology,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “The Octavia RS has been very well received, and sales have exceeded our expectations. This 4×4 version will continue to drive the success of the model series.”

The third-generation ŠKODA Octavia RS launched in 2013 has been very popular on the international markets with more than 58,000 units produced to date. The ŠKODA Octavia RS, available as both a hatch and estate, is a sporty yet extremely practical car. At the same time, the top model in the Octavia series represents 114 years of successful motorsport history for the brand. The first-generation Octavia RS, released in the year 2000, was the first ŠKODA for end customers to enter the market as a sporty RS model. Between 2000 and the end of August 2015, ŠKODA had delivered around 165,000 first to third-generation Octavia RS to customers.

In combination with all-wheel drive, the ŠKODA Octavia RS is the perfect car for everyday and leisure use, and a real all-rounder in virtually any driving situation. The model’s power, technology and utility are impressive, and acceleration is excellent. The attractive combination of automatic dual clutch transmission (DSG) and all-wheel drive accelerates the Octavia RS TDI/135 kW from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 228 km/h. The maximum torque of 380 Nm is 1750-3250 rpm. The combined fuel consumption is 4.9 l/100 km. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 129 g/km.

The modern all-wheel drive results in excellent handling and impressive traction performance even on rough terrain. The power is distributed over the four wheels depending on the specific driving situation when the 4×4 technology is active. The wheels will not spin on the sport even when pulling away or accelerating rapidly. Besides feeling impressive on the road, this also leads to a high level of active safety.

In addition, the ŠKODA Octavia RS 4×4 features the best aspects of the front-wheel drive Octavia RS. The technological highlights include sports suspension with multi-link suspension and electronic differential lock XDS+ for dynamic cornering, innovative progressive steering and numerous assistance systems for enhanced safety and comfort.

The model’s powerful appearance is accentuated with sporty design elements, distinctive alloy wheels, a bold engine noise for that sports feeling and a sporty interior.  In addition, all Octavia RS models offer the great features of the ŠKODA Octavia: maximum functionality and space at the fair value for money.

The RS designation represents ŠKODA successes in motorsport, as well as the power and the passion of the brand. First used as a ŠKODA model designation in 1974, the RS symbol appeared on the racing cars ŠKODA 180 RS and ŠKODA 200 RS as the ‘Ur-RS’. In the 1970s and 80s, the legendary ŠKODA 130 RS was one of the most successful racing cars of its time.

The Octavia RS 4×4 is yet another demonstration of ŠKODA’s expertise in all-wheel drive technology. The car manufacture’s 4×4 range now comprises nine models: ŠKODA Octavia 4×4, ŠKODA Octavia Combi 4×4, ŠKODA Octavia RS 4×4, ŠKODA Octavia Combi RS 4×4, ŠKODA Octavia Scout, ŠKODA Yeti 4×4, ŠKODA Yeti Outdoor 4×4, ŠKODA Superb 4×4 und ŠKODA Superb Combi 4×4.

The ŠKODA Octavia RS 4x4 is also a demonstration of the third-generation Octavia’s versatility. ŠKODA now offers 15 versions of their number-one bestseller: from the eco-friendly ŠKODA Octavia GreenLine up to the Octavia RS 230 – the fastest ŠKODA Octavia of all time.

Technician, Mobility Pioneer and Entrepreneur: 150th Birthday of Company Founding Father Václav Laurin

› Václav Laurin was born 27 September 1865 in Kamení, Bohemia
› With Václav Klement, Laurin founded Laurin und Klement (L&K) the predecessor company to ŠKODA AUTO in 1895
› In 1905 building the brand’s first car – the legendary Voiturette A
› A tradition of success: ŠKODA AUTO celebrates 120 years in 2015

Mladá Boleslav, 25 September 2015 – Václav Laurin, Bohemian mobility pioneer and one of the two ŠKODA AUTO founding fathers would have turned 150 on 27 September.  Working with his business partner Václav Klement, the trained technician founded ŠKODA AUTO’s predecessor company Laurin & Klement (L&K) in 1895. L&K initially built bicycles, motorcycles and later, from 1905, automobiles. In 1925, the company merged with Pilsner engineering company ŠKODA. Václav Laurin died in 1930.

“In partnership with Václav Klement 120 years ago, Václav Laurin laid the foundation for our company’s success story,” says Andrea Frydlová, head of ŠKODA Museum. “Laurin was an outstanding pioneer of mobility in his time, and was also one of the most influential entrepreneurs in early automotive history. The craftsmanship and the engineering spirit of people like Václav Laurin helped to establish the reputation of Bohemia as a cornerstone in European automobile manufacturing that has continued to this day. This reality was born of our founding fathers’ visions and dreams. Today, ŠKODA is an internationally established volume manufacturer, and is one of the longest-established car producers in the world.”

Václav Laurin’s life story is a testament to skill, courage and hard work. From humble beginnings, Laurin was persistent on his path and not discouraged by setbacks. At the age of 30, he seized the opportunity to establish his own bicycle factory in partnership with Václav Klement. This factory would then go on to also produce motorcycles, and from 1905, automobiles. From being a tinkerer, machine fitter and steam engine technician, Václav Laurin became the founder of a company and a successful and respected businessman who, alongside Václav Klement, gave his name one of the most successful automotive brands of the early 20th century.

Václav Laurin was born on 27 September 1865 in the Bohemian village of Kamení near the town of Turnov. Laurin, who came from a modest family, demonstrated his craft skills from an early age. His parents enabled him to do an apprenticeship as a machinist, and following his training he continued his education, working alongside various skilled craftsmen. In 1893, he left for Dresden where he would examine the operation of steam engines. After returning to Turnov, Laurin began working on bicycle construction with business partner Josef Kraus.

When the partnership agreement with Kraus had ended, Václav Laurin settled in today's Mladá Boleslav. Then, in December 1895, he took a decisive step in his professional life: Collaborating with Václav Klement, he founded a bicycle repair shop in Mladá Boleslav under the name of Laurin and Klement. As an excellent technician and ever the visionary tinkerer, he was the ideal complement to enterprising businessman Václav Klement.

The repair shop quickly became home to bicycle production. In the early years, the young company built bicycles with the trademark 'Slavia' – the slogan: ‘only the best is good enough for our customers’. By 1898, the company already had a workforce of 40, and in 1899, L&K presented the fruit of their labour: a motor-assisted bicycle, the so-called Motocyclette. Motorcycles would go on to drive the development of the company.

In 1905, the company then made the crucial leap into automobile production:  L&K built the first automobile, the legendary Voiturette A. The small 7-horsepower car marked the initial spark for a yearlong, successful corporate development under the name of L&K. Due to the pressures of war and economic crisis, the company’s trade drew to a close in the early 1920s. However, the company was rescued in 1925 through the merger with the ŠKODA Works in Pilsen – the largest Czech company at that time. After the merger with ŠKODA, Václav Laurin worked for some time as the Technical Director for the new company. Over the following years, however, he gradually withdrew from active professional life due to his failing health. Václav Laurin died in Mladá Boleslav on 4 December 1930 at the age of 65.

In addition to the 150th birthday of Václav Laurin, ŠKODA is celebrating two other important anniversaries this year: 120 years since the company was founded by Laurin and Klement, and 110 years of automobile manufacturing in Mladá Boleslav, making ŠKODA one of the longest-established vehicle producers in the world. What Laurin and Klement began in 1895 has since grown into an internationally successful volume manufacturer with 7 model series and about 40 model versions. Producing more than 17 million vehicles since 1905 proves the strength of the ŠKODA brand.

Bernhard Maier will take over as CEO from Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland, who in the previous years led the brand into a new dimension with its biggest growth and model campaign ever. “It wasn’t an easy decision for me to take up a new position within the group after over five eventful, successful and wonderful years,” said Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland. “ŠKODA is really very special. An essential part of this is the large ŠKODA family, as well as the brand’s power and dynamism,” said Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland.

With recent sales of over 1 million cars and presence in more than 100 markets, ŠKODA is now established as an international volume brand. With their design and modern technology, ŠKODA cars have now reached top positions in their segments. On 1 November 2015, Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland will take over all responsibility for Volkswagen Group’s newly formed North American Region (NAR), and in this role he will also be a member of the Volkswagen passenger car brand’s Board of Management.

Test Drive Video: Racing Legend Hans-Joachim Stuck Tries Out New ŠKODA Octavia RS 230

› Full throttle: Stuck takes new Octavia RS 230 out on the racing track
› Two-time Le Mans champion impressed by ŠKODA’s power package
› Power: from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds; top speed 250 km/h

Mladá Boleslav, 30. September 2015 – Sporty design, modern technology and impressive power - the new ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 is pure emotion. The automotive power package showed what it is capable of during a test run. At the wheel: the two-time Le Mans champion and former Formula One driver Hans-Joachim Stuck.

Hans-Joachim 'Strietzel' Stuck is excited about the new power Octavia: “A fantastic day with a fantastic car,” was the 64-year-old’s conclusion. “ŠKODA has injected a double dose of dynamism into their sportiest model.” The new ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 is the most powerful production Octavia of all time. The 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine with 230 hp accelerates the manual-transmission Octavia RS 230 from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The top speed is – for the first time in an Octavia – electronically limited at 250 km/h.

The electronically controlled limited-slip differential for particularly dynamic cornering is also celebrating its premiere in a ŠKODA series model. The Octavia RS 230 now features sports suspension as standard. The sporty design is highlighted with black design elements and 19-inch alloy wheels, along with leather sport seats and a sports steering wheel. The partially redeveloped exhaust system ensures a powerful sound.

Hans-Joachim Stuck was a successful racer in the 1970s and 1980s. From 1974 to 1976, he drove in Formula One. In addition, Struck won the famous 24-hour race at Le Mans twice.
