› Market launch will begin in early 2015
Mladá Boleslav/Paris, 30 September 2014 – Raise the curtain for the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi: at this year’s Paris Motor Show, the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi celebrates its world premiere alongside the new ŠKODA Fabia hatchback. The new Fabia Combi is the most popular model in the small car segment, and the third-generation Fabia Combi once again sets standards with its space, functionality and environmentally friendly use. Its new design is based on an expressive and emotionally-rich design language. It comes with state-of-the-art safety, comfort and infotainment systems from higher vehicle segments, among them the new MirrorLink™ and SmartGate technology for pairing the car with a smartphone. The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi will be available in Europe from January 2015.
“The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi is the perfect combination of space, functionality and emotionally-rich design. On top of that, it scores with modern technology,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “A modern, fresh car that stands for the best brand values of ŠKODA with the largest interior space in the small car estate segment. At the same time it extensively meets the increased requirements on connectivity and customisation,” says Prof. Dr. Vahland.
Just a few weeks after the launch of the new ŠKODA Fabia hatchback model, the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi will hit the first European markets in early 2015. With this new edition, the Czech manufacturer intends to build further on the success of the popular estate car. Since 2000, the ŠKODA Fabia Combi has been an integral part of ŠKODA’s model range. To date (as of 31.08.2014) ŠKODA has delivered more than 1.1 million ŠKODA Fabia Combis to customers.
Since its launch, the ŠKODA Fabia Combi has embodied all of the good ŠKODA qualities: lots of space within compact outer dimensions, many practical solutions, low fuel consumption, dependable technology and excellent value for money. This combination has made it a bestseller in the small car segment.
Excellent space: the largest boot capacity in its segment
Compact on the outside, the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi offers lots of space for up to five people and their luggage. The 530 litre boot capacity (1,395 litres with the back seat folded down) is the largest in its segment. The basis volume has increased by 25 litres compared to its predecessor.
The rear seats can be folded down in two positions: the seat is folded first and then the backrest. This increases the flexibility of the interior. Items up to 1.55 metres long can fit into the car. The loading floor is 960 mm wide, 2 mm longer than in the previous model. The tailgate opens to 1,900 mm and is 1,028 mm wide. The loading sill is only 611 mm high making loading the car up easy.
At the same time, the car interior is now wider (by 21 mm) and longer (by 8 mm) and, although the car is now slightly lower, there is also more headroom for the driver and front seat passenger.
Up to 17 ‘Simply Clever’ solutions
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi does not only have plenty of space but is also more practical and cleverer than ever before. Up to 17 ‘Simply Clever’ solutions make life easier in the Fabia Combi, ten of them are new to this model.
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi is available with an adjustable false boot floor as an optional extra. This is a removable shelf which divides the boot into two horizontal compartments, allowing storage on two levels. Simply sliding the shelf into two slots will hold it in its upper position. For easy loading and unloading, the shelf can also be locked at an angle. To use the boot without a partition, simply slide the shelf into its lower position.
The new MirrorLink™ technology brings smartphone applications (apps) including navigation to the infotainment system’s display. With the SmartGate function, certain vehicle data can be displayed, saved and accessed in dedicated apps on the user’s smartphone.
The new Fabia Combi now features an ice scraper in the fuel filler flap as standard. The ice scraper slides into a slot on the inside of the fuel filler flap, ready for use at any time. A mobile phone, smartphone or an iPod can be stored in the new multimedia device cradle located in the cup holder on the centre console. The high-vis vest, now mandatory in many countries, has a convenient dedicated storage compartment in the driver’s door. A waste bin is available for the passenger door. Storage nets on the inside edges of the front seats will hold miscellaneous small items.
The new model offers more room for drinks bottles. Both rear doors will now hold a 0.5-litre bottle. An additional 1.0-litre bottle will fit in the glove compartment. With these, the ŠKODA Fabia now offers space for a total of seven bottles. A 1.5-litre drinks bottle can be stored in each of the front doors, a 0.5-litre bottle in each of the rear doors, a 0.5-litre and a 0.4-litre bottle in the centre console and a 1.0-litre bottle can be stored in the glove compartment.
The new ŠKODA Fabia also offers further ‘Simply Clever’ features that proved themselves valuable in the its second-generation model.
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi has a removable retractable cover for the boot: pressing the edge of the extended cover will cause it to roll up. Two bag hooks are available in the boot. In the Fabia Combi, the optional netting system comprising of three storage nets (2 vertical, 1 horizontal) keeps the boot space tidy. In addition, an optional flexible storage compartment for the boot will hold miscellaneous items in place.
The standard parking ticket holder on the inside of the left-hand A-pillar lets the driver slip in a ticket for easy display. Another ‘Simply Clever’ feature is the corner light function of the fog lights.
Pure emotion: a crisp, sporty design
The new emotionally-charged design of the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi complements its outstanding functionality perfectly. As the hatchback model, the new Fabia Combi impresses with design elements from the VisionC show car, dynamic proportions and modern, crisp design language.
The new, balanced proportions suit the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi particularly well, precise lines and sharp edges are proof of the high-quality manufacturing and accurate workmanship. Added to this, are a distinctive interplay of light and shade and the use of crystalline shapes.
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi is 10 mm longer, 90 mm wider and 31 mm lower than its predecessor. The front is identical to the hatchback model and appears more assured and imposing thanks to the added width and strong emphasis on horizontal lines. Distinctive elements are, as in the hatchback, the razor-sharp, wide headlights, the crystalline glass cut, the characteristic slatted grille and the brand’s logo on the bonnet’s ‘nose’. The designers highlighted the graphic unity of the grille and the lights, precisely marking out all lines and edges such as in the two distinctive beadings running from the outside to the inside of the bonnet.
The sides convey dynamism and emotion. The car’s silhouette appears as if made from one piece. An effect created by a crisp tornado line and the so-called wing line marking the side of the car as well as the slim pillars, the interplay of light and shade, the gently rearward sloping roof line and the completely new, attractive range of wheels.
The rear of the ŠKODA Fabia Combi exudes strength and assurance. It is clean, tidy and boldly contoured with yet another emphasis on horizontal lines. The tail lights in the typical ŠKODA C shape have contrasting dark edging and intricate detail in the style of Czech glass-making tradition.
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi has ample scope for individual configuration. The car’s all-new interior impresses with quality, precise workmanship, an emphasis on horizontal lines and a wide array of colours and colour combinations.
New benchmarks in efficiency and emissions: CO2 emissions from 82 g/km
The new Fabia Combi is more environmentally friendly than ever before with fuel consumption reduced by up to 17 per cent compared to the second-generation model. Fuel consumption is now, at its best, down to 3.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions are just 82 g/km in the ŠKODA Fabia Combi GreenLine (available in 2015). These impressive improvements are the result of a completely new generation of petrol and diesel engines, radical weight reduction down to 1,004 kg and improved aerodynamics.
These excellent results are due to Volkswagen’s innovative MQB technology. Customers can choose from a total of three petrol and three diesel engines. All engines comply with EU6 emission standards and come with a Start-Stop System and brake energy recovery. Power output in the petrol engines ranges from 55 kW (75 PS) to 81 kW (110 PS). The new three-cylinder diesel range offers between 55 kW (75 PS) and 77 kW (105 PS). Transmissions are modern manual or automatic DSG gearboxes.
A comfortable chassis was particularly important in the development of the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi and the engineers delivered even more comfort and optimum ride stability. Finely-adjusted interplay between the new electro-mechanical steering, the new engines and the redesigned engine mounting enabled designers to significantly improve the chassis setup.
The model benefits not least from a wider track (30 mm) both at the front and the rear and a wheelbase that is 5 mm longer. The vehicle design of the new Fabia Combi is based on a modular concept, drawing for the most part on Volkswagen’s MQB technology, e.g. engines, electro-mechanical steering and a large part of the electrics (electrical architecture, such as ECUs, instrument cluster, infotainment and assistance systems).
Despite added technology and comfort, the vehicle’s weight is significantly reduced. Compared to the second generation, the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi is up to 55 kg lighter (depending on vehicle configuration). The ŠKODA Fabia Combi with a 1.0 MPI three-cylinder engine has a kerb weight (without the driver) of just 1,004 kg.
MQB technology for active and passive safety; systems from higher vehicle classes
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi impresses with its high level of safety achieved with safety systems from higher vehicle classes. The optional Front Assistant with integrated City Emergency Braking Function, which automatically brings the vehicle to a complete stop, reduces the risk of rear-end collisions. The Multi-Collision Brake System will automatically slow the car down after an accident to prevent a follow-on collision.
The Driver Activity Assistant will detect fatigue in the driver, while the new Speedlimiter can prevent the car from exceeding a pre-set speed. Hill-Hold Control will help drivers start on a gradient. Also, the new Fabia Combi comes with an electronic tyre pressure monitor as standard in EU countries.
The new ŠKODA Fabia Combi has the enhanced electronic differential lock function XDS+ as standard, which maximises traction when cornering.
Passive safety elements include up to six airbags for finely adjusted interaction with the car’s three-point seatbelts.
Innovative comfort systems
The third-generation Fabia Combi offers a new level of comfort. A first in the model is KESSY (Keyless Entry Start and Exit System), the automatic locking and starting system. Front and rear parking sensors also make a debut in this Fabia Combi. Previously, this technology was only available for the rear of the Fabia Combi.
The Rain-Light Assistant ensures optimum visibility with integrated sensors for rain and ambient light. The rain sensor automatically controls the windshield wipers’ frequency, while the light sensor switches the low beams on and off depending on light conditions.
Making its debut in the ŠKODA Fabia Combi is the new C-EPS (Column-Electric Power Steering), which saves weight and fuel and replaces the electro-hydraulic power steering used previously.
For the first time, customers can order the ŠKODA Fabia Combi with a large panoramic glass roof which adds to the ‘feel-good’ factor on board.
The infotainment systems in the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi are all-new concepts based on Volkswagen’s MIB (modular infotainment matrix) technology. They enable an array of attractive applications previously unavailable in a small car, including a touchscreen display with swipe operation. Customers can choose between three radio systems.
The new-generation air conditioning with control on MQB basis offers optimum comfort too. Both manual air conditioning and fully-automatic Climatronic climate control are available. In comparison to the technology used in previous Fabia Combi models, this new Climatronic system is considerably more efficient. The electronic control captures all the important influences and variables such as the intensity of the sun and the external temperature, and automatically adjusts the flow of cool air to suit. Climatronic not only regulates the air temperature but also the intensity and direction of the air flow.

ŠKODA at the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris 2014 - Press Kit
› World premiere: new small car is a star of the Mondial de l’Automobile
› Simply more car: emotionally-rich design, innovative technology, top features
› Technology from higher vehicle classes: excellent in terms of safety, environment and comfort
› Typical ŠKODA: largest boot in its segment and many ‘Simply Clever’ features
› Strong: ŠKODA sales grew by 13.4 per cent in the first eight months; turnover and operating profit increased significantly in the first half of the year
› ŠKODA’s presence at the exhibition in Paris on 1.625 m2 floor space in pavilion 4
Mladá Boleslav/Paris, October 2014 –
Raise the curtain for the new ŠKODA Fabia: at the Paris Motor Show (02 to 19 October 2014), the newly developed small car from Mladá Boleslav celebrates a double world premiere: as a hatchback and an estate. Modern, dynamic and full of emotion, the new ŠKODA Fabia rolls onto the catwalk. The third-generation model also comes with innovative safety, comfort and infotainment systems that are usually featured in higher vehicle classes, and is more environmentally friendly than ever before. The boot boasts an impressive 330 litre capacity, making it the biggest within its segment. The new ŠKODA Fabia will be available in Europe as early as November; the Fabia Combi will follow in early 2015. With this double hit, the Czech manufacturer is powerfully advancing the biggest model campaign of its company history.
After the ŠKODA Octavia, the ŠKODA Fabia is the bestselling ŠKODA model with a total of almost 3.5 million units sold since 1999. Its outstanding qualities make it one of the most popular vehicles of its class. With the completely new third generation, the ‘crisp’ small car again sets standards. “The new ŠKODA Fabia is, in every respect, simply more car and offers both innovative technology and emotionally-charged design,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “A great car for heart and mind, ideal for the modern, urban mobility of today. We are very confident that the new Fabia will write another chapter in the model’s success story, win over new customer groups and, as an important pillar of our growth strategy, further strengthen the brand’s shine within international markets,” says Prof. Vahland.
The new ŠKODA Fabia is the first ŠKODA production model showing how the brand’s design language has developed into a more expressive, more emotionally-rich design. For the first time, ŠKODA designers have realised design elements from the spectacular ‘VisionC’ show car in series production. At the same time, elements from ŠKODA Motorsport can also be seen. The significantly sharpened appearance of the hatchback and the estate versions emphasises crystalline shapes, clear-cut lines and a high level of precision and detail. The Fabia and Fabia Combi feature balanced, smoother proportions and are 90 mm wider and 31 mm lower than their predecessors. In addition, they impress with a wide range of customisable features – both for the exterior and the interior.
Small car – big on technology. For the first time at ŠKODA, the new Fabia allows smartphones to be easily paired to the car via MirrorLink™ technology and with the new SmartGate function. ŠKODA are bringing the intelligence of the smartphone into the car – easily and at a reasonable price. Thanks to new engines (four petrol and three diesel), a targeted weight reduction – down to 980 kg at its leanest – and improved aerodynamics, consumption and emission values of the new ŠKODA Fabia are up to 17 per cent lower. The most efficient ŠKODA Fabia will be available in 2015: the 55 kW (75 PS) 1.4 TDI ŠKODA Fabia GreenLine. It has a diesel consumption of only 3.1 l/100km, corresponding to CO2 emissions of just 82 g/km.
The new ŠKODA Fabia also has innovative safety and comfort systems that were more likely to be seen in higher vehicle classes. Available for the first time in a Fabia is the Front Assistant with integrated City Emergency Braking Function and the Multi-Collision Brake. The Front Assistant uses a radar sensor to continually measure the distance to the traffic ahead. Whenever the distance is too small, the Assistant intervenes at the necessary intensity level in order to prevent a collision – from optical and acoustic warnings to a short brake jolt and automatic emergency stop. The Multi-Collision Brake reduces the risk of the vehicle becoming involved in a subsequent collision following an accident. The system automatically engages the brakes if it detects a primary collision.
The new Fabia also has other safety systems: Driver Activity Assistant (fatigue detection), Speedlimiter, Hill-Hold Control and an electronic tyre pressure monitor. For increased comfort, optional features include KESSY (Keyless Entry Start and exit SYstem), front and rear parking sensors, the new electro-mechanical power steering and a large panoramic glass roof. At the same time, the new Fabia impresses with plenty of space, even more functionality and 19 ‘Simply Clever’ features.
ŠKODA grew globally by 13.4 per cent from January to August
The new ŠKODA Fabia is a cornerstone for the Czech manufacturer to support even further growth over the coming years. The aim of ŠKODA’s growth strategy is to increase global sales to at least 1.5 million vehicles per year. To achieve this, the company will launch a new or revised model on average every six months. This year alone, ŠKODA has so far presented the new ŠKODA Octavia G-TEC and ŠKODA Octavia Scout, as well as three new sporty Monte Carlo special models for the ŠKODA Citigo, the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback and the ŠKODA Yeti.
This year, the Czech manufacturer has been on excellent form. From January to August 2014, global deliveries increased by 13.4 per cent to 678,500 vehicles – a new record for this period. Sales in Europe increased by 16.1 per cent; in China by 10.9 per cent. The new ŠKODA Octavia is doing exceptionally well: in Western Europe, the bestseller achieved a sales increase of around 41.4 per cent up to the end of August. Sales of the ŠKODA Rapid and ŠKODA Yeti also saw a significant increase.
ŠKODA’s good performance is reflected in the financial figures. Turnover grew to a new record of six billion euros (5.974 billion euros) in the first half of 2014 – an increase of 20.3 per cent compared to the first half of 2013 (4.966 billion euros). At the same time, the operating profit increased by 74.9 per cent to 425 million euros compared to the same period of the previous year.
ŠKODA’s model campaign is supported by strong investments in the international markets and at home in the Czech Republic. In China, ŠKODA’s strongest individual market, the new ŠKODA Octavia has been rolling off the production line for a few months. This year, ŠKODA’s model range for China is growing to six locally-manufactured models which are being produced in cooperation with Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) in a total of three Chinese factories. The production of ŠKODA models in Russia takes place in two locations: in Nizhny Novgorod in collaboration with the Russian GAZ Group, and at the Volkswagen plant in Kaluga.
At home in the Czech Republic, ŠKODA started operations in the new Engine centre in Mladá Boleslav at the beginning of September. Together with Volkswagen Group, the manufacturer invested over 45 million euros in the expansion of the existing ŠKODA Technology and Development Centre near ŠKODA’s headquarters in Mladá Boleslav. The construction work took just two years. With the new Engine centre, ŠKODA is further expanding its expertise in developing and producing engines and powertrains.

Emotions on the Seine: New ŠKODA Fabia and Fabia Combi celebrate world premieres
› New ŠKODA small cars are stars of the Paris Motor Show
› Sporty design, great colour concept, more customization options than ever
› Typically ŠKODA: Spacious, clever, largest boot in its class
› Simply more car: New assistance systems for more safety and comfort
Mladá Boleslav/Paris, 2 October 2014 – Emotive ŠKODA appearance in Paris: the new ŠKODA Fabia and the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi celebrated their acclaimed world premieres today at this year’s Paris Motor Show. Completely redesigned, the two versions of the small car rolled onto the automotive catwalk more sporty, modern and innovative than ever before. There is no question that the new ŠKODA Fabia and the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi are among the stars of the show in the French capital.
“The new ŠKODA Fabia is yet another milestone for ŠKODA, and demonstrates the emotive and technical power of the brand,” says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “Both the hatchback and estate versions of the Fabia simply offer more car. A car for the heart and mind, ideal for modern, urban mobility today. We are very confident that the new Fabia will win over new customer groups. More than 3.5 million customers have opted for our Fabia to date. The Fabia Combi became the market leader in its segment from the outset,” says Prof. Vahland. “We plan to continue this success with the latest generation Fabia.”
The third generation of this model is a complete redevelopment of its predecessor. At first glance, the most visible expression of this is the significantly sharper design. ŠKODA has tailored an expressive design to the new Fabia, taking inspiration from elements of the ŠKODA VisionC show car.
“With its sporty proportions, the ŠKODA Fabia looks fresh and modern. We have also taken our rallying genes and created the most emotive Fabia of all time,” says Dr. Frank Welsch, ŠKODA Board Member for Technical Development. Other new aspects of the design concept include the young, fresh vehicle interior and the rich variety of colours and customization options.”
“We have designed the latest generation Fabia with tighter proportions. The new ŠKODA Fabia is lower and wider, holding closer to the road. The contours are also sharper, with clear lines and crystalline elements. It is through this that we have created more contrast and a very strong interplay between light and shadow. Everything comes together to give the car its own confident character,” explains ŠKODA Chief Designer, Jozef Kabaň.
The technology featured in the new ŠKODA Fabia is sure to meet all the demands of a state-of-the-art vehicle. This is the first time that the brand has released a model that can connect your smartphone to the car’s infotainment system, using the MirrorLink™ and SmartGate functions. With new engines and lower weight, consumption and emissions are significantly reduced by up to 17% in the new Fabia. Innovative assistance systems, normally only seen in higher vehicle classes, ensure increased safety and higher comfort. In addition, the new ŠKODA Fabia and the new ŠKODA Fabia Combi are real champions of utility, with diverse applications and the largest boot in their class.

ŠKODA managed to achieve their second-best sales month in China since entering the market back in 2007. The brand’s market share in Europe increased to 4.4 % over the first nine months.
“As demonstrated by this excellent September and the growth of 13% over the first nine months, ŠKODA remains on a stable path of growth,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “Our young and attractive model range has been very well received on all markets. The new Fabia will be continuing the ŠKODA model campaign with its launch in early November.”

ŠKODA AUTO introduces the small and completely re-designed car to its family of dealers for the first time. The new ŠKODA Fabia is about to be launched in the European market this coming November, followed by the launch of the Fabia Combi at the beginning of 2015.
At World Dealer Conference (WDC) event almost 4,600 ŠKODA dealers from around the globe will be given the opportunity to drive the new ŠKODA Fabia and receive extensive information about the brand’s newest model directly from the source. Among the guests at the WDC are both European dealers and their ŠKODA dealer colleagues from China and Australia.

ŠKODA Felicia: Start of a new ŠKODA era 20 years ago
› Series production of the ŠKODA Felicia began on 17 October 1994
› First ŠKODA to be manufactured in partnership with the Volkswagen Group
› 1.4 million of the Felicia series sold between 1994 and 2001
Mladá Boleslav, 17 October 2014 – Jubilee of the ŠKODA Felicia: 20 years ago today, the first ŠKODA model ran off the production lines after joining forces with the Volkswagen Group. Between 17 October 1994 and 2001 around 1.4 million of the ŠKODA Felicia were produced as hatchbacks, estates, pick-ups, Vanplus and Fun models at the Mladá Boleslav, Vrchlabí and Kvasiny plants.
The ŠKODA Felicia became the first model to be produced in collaboration with the Volkswagen Group, highlighting the successful development of the partnership between the Czech manufacturer and VW since the 1990s. Three years after joining forces with the VW Group, ŠKODA presented the new small car as the successor to the hitherto manufactured ŠKODA Favorit. Sophisticated technology, plenty of space, good build quality and modern design characterized the new ŠKODA model that was produced as hatchback, estate, pick-up, Vanplus and Fun versions.
Dawn of a new era
ŠKODA and the Volkswagen Group sealed their new partnership in April 1991. ŠKODA’s rapid rise to becoming an internationally successful brand began under the umbrella of Europe's largest car manufacturer. Shortly after the contract was signed, work began on a new ŠKODA model named Felicia.
The launch of the ŠKODA Felicia heralded a new era of modern, Western production and quality standards at ŠKODA. The development was based on the previous model ŠKODA Favorit, however, ŠKODA adopted substantial changes in terms of design, workmanship, technology and production methods with the support of the Volkswagen Group. On 17 October, 1994, at exactly 10:20, the first ŠKODA Felicia rolled off the series production line in Mladá Boleslav.
Just nine days later, ŠKODA presented the new hatchback model to the public for the first time. On 26 October, 1994, three ŠKODA Felicias in the Czech national colours of red, blue and white were christened with Vltava water on Charles Bridge, Prague by the then Mayor of Prague Jan Koukal. One of the first vehicles was presented to the Ondráčeks – proud parents of nine-month-old quadruplets.
The Felicia was originally released with a 1289cc petrol engine with two output options – 40 kW and 50 kW. The engine range was soon expanded. In 1995 a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 55 kW output and a 47 kW 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel were launched.
ŠKODA expanded the Felicia range barely a year after the introduction of the first hatchback version. From June, 1995, the ŠKODA Felicia Combi became the next spacious and practical family car. Shortly after the introduction of the estate, the manufacturer started the production of a pickup version in August 1995 at the Kvasiny plant (including the closed version Vanplus). Later, the ŠKODA Felicia Fun, a model based on the ŠKODA Felicia Pick-up, was released, designed for leisure use. Additionally, around 18,500 of the pick-up version were produced and sold under the name Volkswagen Caddy.
Quality, safety and equipment
For the Czech manufacturer, the ŠKODA Felicia signified a new milestone in terms of quality and safety. ŠKODA became the first Czech engine manufacturer to achieve the international quality certificate ISO 9002 in 1994. The ŠKODA Felicia’s good safety level was confirmed in the crash tests carried out by the German TÜV in 1995. The ŠKODA Felicia was the first of the brand’s models to offer two airbags and ABS, as well as comfort features, such as air-conditioning, front electric windows and leather seats in the top-of-the-range Felicia Laurin & Klement.
Success in motorsport
The ŠKODA Felicia even did very well in international motorsport. The model was used for three seasons between 1995 and 1997 in the rally world championships. In the first season alone, ŠKODA Felicia Kit Car landed third place in its class, with Emil Triner and Pavel Sibera behind the wheel. In 1996 Stig Blomqvist took sensational third place with the ŠKODA Felicia in the overall rankings of the British RAC Rally. Finally in 1997, the ŠKODA Felicia scored second place in its class at the Rally World Championships. ŠKODA then went on to further rallying success with the Octavia WRC.
1998 ŠKODA Felicia completely revised
The ŠKODA Felicia was completely revised and relaunched in the February of 1998. ŠKODA trimmed the shape of the model to the brand’s new design language that had begun two years previously with the ŠKODA Octavia.
After exactly 1,401,489 of the vehicle had been produced, the last ŠKODA Felicia rolled off the line in 2001 to make way for its 1999 successor – the ŠKODA Fabia.

ŠKODA Octavia Hatchback now also available with all-wheel drive
› An all-rounder with plenty of space, high functionality and a dynamic design
› State-of-the-art 4x4 technology based on the Haldex 5 clutch
› Four engines: 1.6 TDI/77 kW, 2.0 TDI/110 kW, 2.0 TDI/135 kW and 1.8 TSI/132 kW
› ŠKODA Octavia is a real winner: deliveries in Western Europe grew by 34.8 per cent in the first nine months of 2014
› ŠKODA all-wheel-drive range grows to seven models: Europe's newest and broadest 4×4 portfolio in the compact and mid-class segment
Mladá Boleslav, 29 October 2014 – The ŠKODA Octavia is now also available as a hatchback with all-wheel drive. The new ŠKODA Octavia 4×4 hatchback combines the high practicality of an all-wheel-drive vehicle with the proven Octavia qualities. One petrol and three diesel engines are available. With the Octavia 4x4, the current Octavia series grows to seven variants, three of which have all-wheel drive. At the same time, ŠKODA is expanding its attractive 4x4 range to a total of seven vehicles.
"With the ŠKODA Octavia 4×4, we are expanding our most important model range with an attractive variant and are proving our high level of competency in all-wheel-drive vehicles once more," says ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing Werner Eichhorn.
The handling of the ŠKODA Octavia 4x4 is impressive – whether it is asphalt, gradients, challenging terrain or tricky situations. All of this is made possible by fifth-generation Haldex clutch based all-wheel-drive technology in combination with powerful engines and a chassis which has been adjusted for comfort.
The ŠKODA Octavia 4x4 is fitted with an electronic differential lock (EDL) as standard. The rear axle has an innovative multi-link suspension with one longitudinal and three transverse links per wheel and an anti-roll bar. Finely-tuned interaction between these technologies ensures best handling, excellent pulling away characteristics, very good acceleration and maximum towing capacity.
At the same time, this youngest member of the Octavia family features the same outstanding product qualities the front-wheel-drive ŠKODA Octavia offers: it is luxuriously spacious and highly functional, comes with many ‘Simply Clever’ ideas, features innovative safety and comfort systems and has low fuel consumption and a dynamic and elegant design.
Haldex 5 all-wheel-drive technology, high-performance engines, excellent handling
The drive system on the ŠKODA Octavia 4×4 is one of the most modern and efficient all-wheel-drive technologies. Via the control unit of the Haldex 5 clutch, the all-wheel-drive system is programmed to deliver the torque mainly to the front axle in normal driving conditions and with a light load. If necessary, the rear wheels are smoothly activated within fractions of a second, so fast that loss of traction is almost impossible.
The new ŠKODA Octavia 4x4 also impresses with its excellent towing capacity. The vehicle will tow up to two tonnes (2.0 TDI with 110 kW (150 PS)).
A total of four engines are available for the hatchback and estate models: three turbo diesel engines and one turbo petrol engine.
The 1.6 TDI Green tec with 77 kW (105 PS) has a combined fuel consumption in the Octavia 4×4 of just 4.5 l/100 km. CO2 emissions are 119 g/km. With the entry-level engine, the Octavia 4×4 accelerates to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds, and its top speed is 191 km/h.
The 2.0 TDI Green tec with 110 kW (150 PS) consumes 4.7 l diesel per 100 km and emits 122 g of CO2 per km. Top speed is 215 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.6 seconds.
The 135 kW version of the 2.0 TDI Green tec consumes 4.9 l per 100 km. CO2emissions are 129 g/km. The engine accelerates the Octavia 4x4 from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The top speed is 228 km/h.
The 1.8 TSI Green tec with 132 kW (180 PS) is exclusively available with automatic six-speed DSG transmission. The combined consumption is 6.7 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 154 g/km. The Octavia 4×4 with this engine is capable of a top speed of 229 km/h. It will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds.
With the new Octavia 4x4 hatchback, the ŠKODA 4x4 model range now consists of seven vehicles: the ŠKODA Octavia 4×4, ŠKODA Octavia Combi 4×4, ŠKODA Octavia Scout, ŠKODA Yeti 4×4 and ŠKODA Yeti Outdoor 4×4, as well as the ŠKODA Superb 4×4 and ŠKODA Superb Combi 4×4. This means that in the compact and mid-class segment, ŠKODA has the newest and broadest 4x4 range in Europe.

› Sales revenue increases by 19.3 per cent to 8.8 billion euros as of the end of September
› Operating profit up by 75.5 per cent to 651 million euros› New ŠKODA Fabia is advancing the biggest model campaign in ŠKODA history
Mladá Boleslav, 31 October 2014 – The Czech manufacturer ŠKODA remains on the right track and continues to show profitable growth. In the first nine months of 2014, deliveries to customers worldwide increased by 13 per cent to 774,100 vehicles. Over the same period, sales revenue went up by 19.3 per cent to 8.8 billion euros. Operating profit rose to 651 million euros; a growth of 75.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.
"ŠKODA has continued to successfully implement its growth programme over the course of the year so far," says ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. "The double-figure increase in deliveries and the significant growth of sales revenue and results show that our new, attractive model range is going down well in the international markets. Over the coming years, we want to grow further still and convert new customer groups to the brand. From November, the new ŠKODA Fabia will ignite the next stage of our model campaign," says Prof. Dr. Vahland.
In the first nine months of this year, ŠKODA achieved revenues amounting to 8.8 billion euros; an increase of 19.3 per cent compared to last year. Over the same period, operating profit rose by 75.5 per cent to 651 million euros (January to September 2013: 371 million euros). Alongside increased deliveries, the effects of mixes as well as improved product costs contributed to the better profit. In addition, the first nine months of 2013 were influenced by the start of production of the new ŠKODA Octavia.
With 7.4 per cent, the operating margin at the end of September was considerably higher than last year’s 5 per cent. Net liquidity rose by 40.6 per cent to 2.278 billion euros. Investments reached 362 million euros (January to September 2013: 458 million euros).
"ŠKODA is experiencing profitable growth," says ŠKODA member of the Board of Management for Commercial Affairs Winfried Krause. "The growth of both operating profit and net liquidity is proof of our financial solidity and strength. In light of high demands from the markets, cost discipline remains our top priority," says Krause.

Five stars for new ŠKODA Fabia in Euro NCAP crash tests
› Results underline top-level safety of the new ŠKODA Fabia
› Small car provides outstanding occupant protection for adults and children
› Innovative safety systems: ESC with Multi-Collision Brake, Front Assistant with City Emergency Braking Function, fatigue detection, Speedlimiter
› Highest level of passive safety: six airbags as standard in EU countries
Mladá Boleslav, 5 November 2014 – The new ŠKODA Fabia has been awarded the maximum five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. The outstanding test results underline the high-level safety of the new small car from ŠKODA which is going to be launched on the first European markets in the next couple of days. The Euro NCAP rating is based on results for occupant protection for adults and children, pedestrian protection and safety assistance systems.
“One of the aims of the new ŠKODA Fabia development was to bring top-level safety performance to the small car segment,” says ŠKODA Board Member for Technical Development, Dr Frank Welsch. “The maximum five star rating is confirmation by independent experts that we have achieved this goal and it shows that the new ŠKODA Fabia is one of the safest small cars in the market,” says Dr Welsch.
The new ŠKODA Fabia received the maximum five-star rating in all four areas (occupant protection for adults, child safety, safety assistance systems and pedestrian protection). The testers particularly emphasised the stability of the passenger compartment. For the protection of 18-month-old children the new ŠKODA Fabia achieved maximum points, and the protection of 3-year-old children was also awarded high marks.
The new ŠKODA Fabia scored well thanks to innovative safety features that were previously reserved for higher vehicle segments. The optional Front Assistant with integrated Emergency Braking Function makes a debut in the new ŠKODA Fabia. This system uses a radar sensor to continually measure the distance to the traffic ahead. Whenever the distance is too small, the Assistant intervenes – from warnings to automatic emergency stop. Also making a debut in the new ŠKODA Fabia is the Multi-Collision Brake which is part of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) fitted as standard to the model. The Multi-Collision Brake reduces the risk of the vehicle becoming involved in a subsequent collision following an accident.
Also available for the first time in the new ŠKODA Fabia is the optional Driver Activity Assistant (fatigue detection). Other safety systems include Speedlimiter, Hill-Hold Control and an electronic tyre pressure monitor.
The new ŠKODA Fabia’s comprehensive and perfectly aligned safety package provides the best possible protection in case of an accident. Up to six airbags – front, side and head airbags – in combination with five three-point seat belts protect the occupants in case of a collision. High body rigidity and specifically optimised body crumple zones form the basis for the high passive safety.
Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) is an independent consortium of European ministries for transport, motoring clubs, insurers and consumer groups. The organisation carries out crash tests with new car models and assesses their safety.

ŠKODA Vrchlabí plant: 500,000th DQ 200 transmission
› ŠKODA has produced half a million dual-clutch transmissions since October 2012
› High-tech location: 1,500 DSG transmissions daily; 210 million euros invested
› Important employer: around 1,000 people employed in the Vrchlabí plant
› Future: manufacturer expands powertrain competency
› Tradition: 115 years of ŠKODA powertrain development and production
Mladá Boleslav/Vrchlabí, 06 November 2014 – Today, the ŠKODA Vrchlabí plant has manufactured the 500,000th dual-clutch transmission. The modern direct shift transmission has been rolling off the production line in Vrchlabí since October 2012 and is used in ŠKODA vehicles as well as Volkswagen, Seat and Audi models. The Czech manufacturer, together with Volkswagen Group, had invested around 210 million euros in establishing DSG production.
Around 1,000 employees currently manufacture 1,500 DSG transmissions daily in the ŠKODA plant at the foot of the Krkonoše mountain range. Production takes place five days a week, around the clock in three-shift operation. At the beginning of 2014, the daily production capacity was increased from 1,000 to 1,500 DSG transmissions per day.
“The figure of half a million manufactured DSG transmissions underlines the performance of the Vrchlabí plant and its employees and marks another milestone for ŠKODA’s powertrain production in the Czech Republic,” says Ivan Slimák, plant manager of DQ 200 transmission production in Vrchlabí. “ŠKODA has developed the plant into a new high-tech location for the company. The production facility is a cornerstone of ŠKODA’s strategy for growth,” says Slimák.
Two years ago, the Czech manufacturer, together with Volkswagen Group, invested around 210 million euros in setting up the production of the DQ 200. For around 27 million euros, new buildings were built or existing production halls were modernised. 180 million euros were invested in technical equipment and additional provisions, for example in the training centre for transmission production, in logistics functions, in Measurement centre and laboratories.
The seven-speed direct shift DQ 200 transmission is one of the most innovative automatic transmissions in the automobile industry. The technology combines the ease of an automatic transmission and the execution of quick gear changes without any reduction in traction. The Vrchlabí plant got the go-ahead for the production of the DQ 200 transmission in spring 2011.
The production of the DQ 200 underlines the high competency of the Czech producer in powertrain manufacturing. Alongside the production of transmissions in Vrchlabí, the MQ 200 and MQ/SQ 100 transmissions are rolling off the production line in the Mladá Boleslav plant. Another focus is on engine production. The ŠKODA parent plant Mladá Boleslav is currently building three- and four-cylinder petrol engines for the EA 211 series as well as powertrains for the EA 111 series.
In the coming years, the company wants to further expand its powertrain competency. As the most recent step, at the beginning of September this year, ŠKODA opened a new engine centre in Mladá Boleslav. The manufacturer, together with Volkswagen Group, invested around 45 million euros in this alone.
ŠKODA has a 115-year-old tradition in engine and powertrain production. In 1899, the founding fathers Laurin and Klement equipped a bicycle with an auxiliary engine for the first time. The Motocyclette was driven by one-cylinder engines with 1.25 or 1.75 PS.

Legendary ŠKODA 966 Supersport: Restored to its Former Glory
› Exceptional racing car painstakingly restored
› ŠKODA 966 Supersport - a characteristic representative of motorsport in the 1950s
› The fastest racing car of its time in Czechoslovakia
› Vehicle on display in the main exhibition at ŠKODA Museum in Mladá Boleslav
Mladá Boleslav, 14 November 2014 – The world's only surviving example of a ŠKODA 966 Supersport has been restored to its former glory. ŠKODA specialists have been working with great care on the renovation of this vehicle for the past year, and now visitors to the ŠKODA museum can admire the automotive gem as it was originally presented in the 1950s.
It was back in 1950 that three copies of the special racing edition of the ŠKODA 966 Supersport were built. Last seen on the racing track in 1962, only one has survived to this day. For many years, the car was owned by the Slovakian racing driver Ivan Mičík, and in 2007 the vehicle was acquired by the ŠKODA museum where its extensive renovation began. The restoration was carried out authentically, according to contemporary documents. The ŠKODA 966 Supersport, now shining once again as it did in the season of 1953, can be seen as part of the current museum exhibition.
“The ŠKODA 966 Supersport provides an important testimony to our history in motorsport. This conveys the atmosphere of the legendary lap racing from the second half of the 20th century perfectly,” says Michal Velebný, head of the restoration workshop at ŠKODA. “Given the uniqueness of this vehicle, this is one of the most interesting exhibits at the ŠKODA Museum,” he adds.
The special racing edition, the ŠKODA 966 Supersport with an aluminium body, was introduced in 1950, and the model stood out due to its high variability. After minor adjustments to the body in the form of covering the passenger seats and removing the headlights and fenders, the vehicle could also be used in the racing car category.
The ŠKODA 966 Supersport celebrated its premiere in the May of 1950 in Mladá Boleslav. After two more races, however, the vehicle was so badly damaged that it had to be replaced by another. Since the factory team’s objective was to bring two vehicles into operation, an additional vehicle was produced – the third in the series. It was this third vehicle that has been preserved and has undergone full restoration.
The vehicle made its debut for the Grand Prix of Czechoslovakia on 24 September 1950. The car took racing driver Miroslav Fousek to second place in the category of up to 1100cc. The 1951 racing season began with victory in the sports car category at the races in Liberec.
In the following years, both Supersport vehicles – the second and third built – appeared in numerous races. After a serious injury, Miroslav Fousek was replaced by Jaroslav Netušil. The second vehicle had been driven by Václav Bobek up until then.
ŠKODA improved both of the racing cars, especially the engines used. The assembly with a displacement of 1089cc was originally derived from the ŠKODA Tudor, but this was given a new aluminium cylinder head with hemispherical combustion chamber. There was a version with atmospheric aspiration and two carburettors, and the most powerful version with one or even two compressors. One could tell the two vehicles apart by the height of the bonnet; the turbocharged version had a lower bonnet. Under the higher bonnet with a pronounced 'bulge' were two carburettors.
Given the versatility of the drive unit and especially the speed of the conversion, both ŠKODA 966 Super Sport vehicles could take part in the 1100cc class (for the version with the carburettor) or in the 1500 category (for the version with the compressor). For a further increase in power, in line with new racing rules, ŠKODA later changed the engine capacity to 1221 cc. In the final phase of development, a new prototype engine was installed under the bonnet with a capacity of 1500cc and either four carburettors, and/or two compressors.
The engine with carburettors achieved an output of up to 66 kW (90 hp) and the supercharged version even up to 132 kW (180 hp), reaching speeds almost breaking the 200 km/h barrier. Due to the considerable number of pipes in the engine compartment, the model with the compressor was also known as "gasworks".
At the same time, the racing cars also underwent considerable improvement. A condenser was placed in front of the compressor to improve the cooling of the supercharged version. During the 1953 season, the designers improved the vehicle’s aerodynamics by lowering the radiator grille and making the suction opening more oval. By the end of 1953, the car had been installed with a new engine with a capacity of 1500cc. In the autumn of 1953, Václav Bobek achieved a new speed record of 197.8km/h in the version with two compressors, making the ŠKODA 966 Supersport the fastest automobile in Czechoslovakia at that time.
The final adjustments to the bodywork took place during 1954. Due to the changes in the rules, the Supersport received large fenders that were firmly attached to the body. Jaroslav Netušil raced in the now newly restored vehicle in 1955. Development of the new ŠKODA 1100 Special OHC – the Supersport’s successor – began one year later. In the following years, both ŠKODA Supersport 966 vehicles were used to train future racing drivers.

ŠKODA Design Premiere in China – Show Car ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ at the Auto Guangzhou 2014
› Premiere: spectacular ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ study on show in China for the first time
› ŠKODA with strongest China portfolio ever; six locally manufactured models
› Growth target: more than 500,000 deliveries annually in China
› January to October 2014: ŠKODA has grown by 12.4 per cent in China
› ŠKODA’s presence at the exhibition in Guangzhou with 1,190 m2 floor space in pavilion 6.1
Mladá Boleslav/Guangzhou, 17 November 2014 – ŠKODA wants to continue to grow in China. The highlight of ŠKODA’s presence at the Auto Guangzhou (20-29 November) is the Chinese premiere of the ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ show car. With its expressive, modern and young design language, the spectacular coupé study gives a glimpse of the future ŠKODA design and shows off the emotional power of the brand. With this, ŠKODA underlines its growth ambitions in the Chinese market. In addition, ŠKODA will present the full range of its current China product portfolio which is the most comprehensive and attractive ever. This year alone, ŠKODA has doubled its China portfolio to six locally manufactured models. With its continuing model campaign and the expansion of local production capacity, the brand intends to increase deliveries in China to at least 500,000 annually. In the first ten months of 2014, ŠKODA has delivered 223,800 vehicles to customers in China. This is an increase of 12.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. In October alone, the brand increased sales in China by 19.1 per cent.
“As the largest individual market for ŠKODA, China is a core pillar in our international growth strategy,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “Over the last few years we have expanded our model portfolio in the country on a gradual basis and successfully developed the profile and image of the brand. Today, we are offering the most attractive ŠKODA model portfolio ever in China. We want to further develop our position over the coming years and increase deliveries in the Chinese market. Apart from functional features, we are placing more emphasis on a modern, emotionally-charged design language for our cars. In doing so, we are responding to the increased demands from our customers and are appealing to new market segments at the same time. The ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ design study shows the direction in which the ŠKODA design is developing,” says Eichhorn.
Chinese premiere of the ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ coupé study
With the Chinese premiere of the trend-setting ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ design study, the brand launches a new era of its design language: a design language that highlights the value and the ambition of the brand, and reflects the active lifestyle of modern people. With its emotionally-charged design, the dynamic and elegant five-door coupé ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ inspires through its expressive design language, clean lines and perfect proportions. The interplay of soft, gently contoured surfaces and precise, sharp lines is exciting.
At the same time, the show car comes with Volkswagen Group’s modern MQB technology: innovative CNG drive, low bodyweight and excellent aerodynamics. With this set-up, the ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ show car achieves CO2 emissions of just 91 g per kilometre.
The study fulfils the highest demands with regards to functionality as well as practical characteristics. The large tailgate for example, typically ŠKODA, provides optimum access to the boot: design and functionality in perfect harmony.
ŠKODA’s 2014 model portfolio significantly expanded – six locally manufactured ŠKODAs
Alongside the ‘ŠKODA VisionC’ study, the car manufacturer will present its China model portfolio in Guangzhou, which has been comprehensively refreshed over the last months. A total of eight models with the winged arrow are currently available in China: Fabia, Rapid, Rapid Spaceback, Octavia, Yeti, Yeti 4x4, Superb and Superb Combi. Apart from the Yeti 4x4 and the Superb Combi, all vehicles are manufactured locally in China.
The ŠKODA Octavia is the heart of the brand in China too, where the new Octavia was launched onto the market in May. Production in China operates in cooperation with Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) at the Ningbo car plant. So far this year, ŠKODA has delivered 88,800 Octavias to customers in China. In October alone, Octavia sales in China increased by 15.6 per cent compared to October 2013.
The ŠKODA bestseller is in a class of its own and sets new standards in the compact segment for space, functionality, technology and design. Never before has a ŠKODA Octavia been as dynamic and timelessly elegant, striking, significant and poised as the third generation is now. The design has been adapted to the taste of Chinese customers, for example through the use of more chrome features. The new ŠKODA Octavia is available in China with two efficient petrol engines, the 1.4 l TSI and the 1.6 l petrol.
The ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback has also been launched in China this year. This hatchback variant of the ŠKODA Rapid compact saloon, on sale in China since 2013, extends the offering between the ŠKODA Fabia and the ŠKODA Octavia. The dynamic and fresh design is particularly appealing to younger customer groups. In typical ŠKODA style, the young compact car wins over customers with lots of space, numerous ‘Simply Clever’ solutions, top-level safety, low consumption and outstanding value for money.
In Guangzhou, the brand will present both the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback and the ŠKODA Rapid. Deliveries for the two model variants increased in China by 278.1 per cent between January and October. This makes the ŠKODA Rapid the second strongest ŠKODA model series in China.
The third new model to be launched this year in China was the urban version of the compact SUV ŠKODA Yeti. The popular compact SUV is now available in two variants on the Chinese market for the first time: the ŠKODA Yeti in elegant design for the city and the ŠKODA Yeti Outdoor equipped for rough terrain and adventure.
The locally produced Yeti comes with a 6 cm longer wheel base, meeting the demand of Chinese customers for more space on the rear seats. Mounting the spare wheel on the tailgate of the ŠKODA Yeti is optional in China. Customers can choose from three petrol engines for the Yeti in China: the 1.6 l petrol exclusively for the urban variant, the 1.4 l TSI and the 1.8 l TSI. Between January and October 2014, 15,700 customers in China chose the ŠKODA Yeti (both variants).
At Guangzhou, ŠKODA will also present the ŠKODA Superb, which was comprehensively redesigned in the middle of 2013, both in the saloon and the estate variant. The brand’s flagship impresses with attractive new ŠKODA design elements, a fresh interior and improved technology. The engine portfolio’s consumption and emissions have been reduced by up to 19 per cent. Between January and October, ŠKODA has delivered 25,900 Superbs und Superb Combis to customers in China.
ŠKODA success in China since 2007; more than 1.2 million cars sold
ŠKODA has had a presence in China since 2007. Since then, the brand has delivered more than 1.2 million vehicles to customers in China. The first model to be produced in the country was the ŠKODA Octavia in 2007. The ŠKODA Fabia followed in 2008 and the ŠKODA Superb in 2009. The ŠKODA Yeti, launched in 2013, started off as an import model and has been manufactured locally in cooperation with Shanghai Volkswagen since the end of 2013. The ŠKODA Rapid compact saloon has been available in China since the beginning of 2013, the new ŠKODA Octavia, the ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback and the ŠKODA Yeti as an urban variant followed this year. The brand is offering the ŠKODA Superb Combi as an import model.
Over the last years, ŠKODA has consistently developed its position in China, which has been the strongest individual ŠKODA market since 2010. Right from the start of its operations in China, the manufacturer has focused on close cooperation with Shanghai Volkswagen. Since the market launch of the brand in China, about 1.1 million ŠKODA models have rolled off the production line at SVW. This is approximately 10 per cent of the ten million vehicles that have been produced at SVW since 1983. ŠKODA production currently takes place at three locations in China: Ningbo, Anting and Yizheng.
ŠKODA is growing worldwide
In 2014, ŠKODA has continued to show strong growth internationally. The manufacturer has delivered more than 865,000 vehicles to customers worldwide in the first ten months – an increase of 12.5 per cent and a new sales record for this period. In October, ŠKODA increased deliveries worldwide by 8.6 per cent to 91,000 cars, making this the best October in the company’s history.
The strength of the brand is underpinned by good financial results. ŠKODA revenues increased by 19.3 per cent to 8.8 billion euros in the first nine months. The operating profit of the company reached 651 million euros, which represents growth of 75.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The biggest ŠKODA model campaign ever is continuing at full force. Only a few days ago, the new ŠKODA Fabia was launched on the first European markets. The new small car inspires with an emotionally-charged design language, innovative technology and great functionality.
Over the coming years, ŠKODA intends to increase worldwide sales to at least 1.5 million vehicles annually. To achieve this, the company will launch a new or redesigned model on average every six months.
